<p xml:id="par4">The last week I wrote to you that <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Metall <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> you <lb xml:id="l1"/>sent me was well for closenesse &amp; hardnesse but yet of a <lb xml:id="l2"/>colour not very brisque &amp; inclini<del type="over">g</del><add place="over" indicator="no">n</add>g to red. However if it <lb xml:id="l3"/>be less apt to tarnish then any other <del type="strikethrough">metall</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="no">mixture</add> yet known, <lb xml:id="l4"/>that will sufficiently recompense <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> other imperfections. <choice><abbr>Yo<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi></abbr><expan>Yours</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l5"/>of July 16<hi rend="superscript">th</hi> <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">d</add>irected to Stoake is not yet come to <lb xml:id="l6"/>my hands.
