<p xml:id="par3">The book <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> my Carrier by forgetfulnesse disappointed <lb xml:id="l1"/>me of the last week I have now received &amp; thank you <lb xml:id="l2"/>for it. With the Telescope <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> I made I have <lb xml:id="l3"/>sometimes seen remote objects &amp; particularly the <lb xml:id="l4"/>Moon very distinct in those <choice><abbr>pts</abbr><expan>parts</expan></choice> of it <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> were <lb xml:id="l5"/>neare the sides of the visible angle. And at other <lb xml:id="l6"/>times when it hath been otherwise put together it <lb xml:id="l7"/>hath exhibited things not <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice>out <lb xml:id="l8"/>some confusion. <lb xml:id="l9"/><choice><abbr>W<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> difference I attributed chiefely to some im<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l10"/>perfection that <lb xml:id="l11"/>might possibly be either in the figures <lb xml:id="l12"/>of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> metalls or eye glasse, &amp; once <lb xml:id="l13"/>I found it caused <lb xml:id="l14"/>by a little tarnishing of the Metall in 4 or 5 days <lb xml:id="l15"/>of moist weather.</p>

<p xml:id="par4">One of the Fellows of <choice><abbr>o<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>our</expan></choice> College is making <del type="strikethrough">such</del> <lb xml:id="l16"/>such another Telescope <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> last night I looked <lb xml:id="l17"/>on Jup<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add indicator="no" place="over">i</add>ter &amp; he seemed as distinct &amp; sharply defined <lb xml:id="l18"/>as I have seen him in other Telescopes. When he <lb xml:id="l19"/>hath finished it I will examin more strictly &amp; send <lb xml:id="l20"/>you an account of its <del type="cancelled">f<gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del> performances, For it <lb xml:id="l21"/>seemes to be somthing better then that <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> I made.</p>
