                <p xml:id="par3"><del type="strikethrough">If the <del type="cancelled">Pri</del> Prince of Wales re<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">n</add>ews the contract for Tin &amp; assignes it to the <lb xml:id="l14"/>King.</del></p>
                
                <p rend="center" xml:id="par4">Considerations upon the Contracts for Tin. <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="1"/></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par5">the last contract for Tin commencing Iune 1<hi rend="superscript">st</hi> 1<del type="over">67</del><add place="over" indicator="no">71</add>0 &amp; ending with <lb xml:id="l15"/>the Queens death Aug 1<hi rend="superscript">st</hi> 1714 was for 1800 Tunns <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice> from Cornwall</add> in times of peace <lb xml:id="l16"/>besides about 40 Tunns from <del type="strikethrough">Truro in</del> Devon. And the consumption carried <lb xml:id="l17"/>off <del type="cancelled">abou</del> almost 1200<add place="supralinear" indicator="no"><del type="strikethrough">1260</del></add> Tuns <choice><abbr>stan.</abbr><expan>stannary</expan></choice><add place="supralinear" indicator="no"><del type="strikethrough">merch<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></del></add> <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>weight</expan></choice> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice></add> &amp; at her death there <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">r</add>emained <lb xml:id="l18"/><del type="strikethrough">unsold</del> in her hands unsold <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">ab</add>out 5150 <choice><abbr>T.</abbr><expan>Tuns</expan></choice> <del type="cancelled">st</del> <choice><abbr>merch.</abbr><expan>merchants</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>weight</expan></choice>. If the contract be renewed by the Prince &amp; assign<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add>d over to the King the Queens Tin will <lb xml:id="l19"/>be <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">at least</add> four years <del type="strikethrough"><del type="cancelled">in so</del> &amp; a month</del> in selling &amp; <del type="cancelled">th</del> at the end of that time the <lb xml:id="l20"/>King will have received 7360 <del type="cancelled">T. T</del> <choice><abbr>st.</abbr><expan>stannary</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>weight</expan></choice> or 7886 <choice><abbr>T.</abbr><expan>Tuns</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>merc.</abbr><expan>merchants</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>weight</expan></choice>, &amp; so be in a <lb xml:id="l21"/>much worse condition <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">as to these contracts</add> then the Queen was at her death. This Tin will cost <lb xml:id="l22"/>the King 511520<hi rend="superscript">li</hi>, besides feight 7360<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> &amp; charges in Cornwall <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">&amp;</add> 1000<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> &amp; <lb xml:id="l23"/><choice><sic>&amp;</sic><corr type="noText"/></choice> interest of <del type="cancelled">the</del> all the money advanced <del type="cancelled">10398</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">at 5 <choice><abbr>p<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>per</expan></choice> cent</add> 51<del type="over">8</del><add place="over" indicator="no">9</add>88<hi rend="superscript">li</hi>. In all 571868<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> <lb xml:id="l24"/><del type="strikethrough">the interest of <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> after the four years <del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del> will be 28593. 8<hi rend="superscript">s</hi>. per a<hi rend="overline">n</hi>.</del> <lb xml:id="l25"/>before the king can begin to sell any Tin. <add place="lineEnd" indicator="no">And <del type="strikethrough">when the King begins to sell</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">then</add> the</add> <add place="infralinear" indicator="no">interest of this money <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">at 5 per cent</add> will amount unto 28573 per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice></add></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par6">If <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">at</add> the end of that tim<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add>, the contract should cease: the King, <lb xml:id="l26"/>that he may sell as much Tin as shall be sold by the people of Cornwall, <lb xml:id="l27"/>suppose 6<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">0</add>0 Tunns per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice>, (the whole sales amounting only to 1200 <lb xml:id="l28"/><add place="lineBeginning" indicator="no"><choice><abbr>T.</abbr><expan>Tuns</expan></choice></add> <choice><abbr>stan.</abbr><expan>standard</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>weight</expan></choice>,) <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">he</add> must lower the price <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">u</add>ntill it shall not be worth the <lb xml:id="l29"/>while for the people of Cornwall to <del type="over">s</del><add place="over" indicator="no">d</add>ig &amp; work above 600 Tunns <lb xml:id="l30"/><del type="strikethrough">stannary w</del> per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice>. <del type="strikethrough">And this will hardly be compassed without selling <lb xml:id="l31"/>it at a lower price then hath been known these many years. Sup<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l32"/>pose he should sell 600 Tunns per a<hi rend="overline">n</hi> <del type="cancelled">st</del></del> <add place="supralinear interlinear" indicator="yes">When the price has been only 50<hi rend="superscript"><del type="over">s</del><add place="over" indicator="no">l</add>i</hi> per Tun they have dug a much greater quantity <lb xml:id="l33"/>And therefore the king must sell it at a price still lower, suppose at 45 or 40 <lb xml:id="l34"/><del type="cancelled">st.</del> per Tun. If he should sell <choice><sic>it at 45<hi rend="superscript">li</hi></sic><corr type="noText"/></choice></add> it at 45<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> per Tun. The <lb xml:id="l35"/>sale of 600 Tunns per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice> would produce an annuity of 27000 <lb xml:id="l36"/><del type="cancelled">for</del> till all the Kings Tin be sold, that is, for 12 years &amp; a <lb xml:id="l37"/>a quarter. Which Annuity <del type="strikethrough">would</del> would not pay the interest of <lb xml:id="l38"/>the money advanced <del type="cancelled"><del type="over">o</del><add place="over" indicator="no">&amp;</add><del type="cancelled">f</del></del><add place="infralinear" indicator="no"><del type="strikethrough"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del></add> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">together <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice></add> the charges of selling the Tin <del type="strikethrough">without an <lb xml:id="l39"/>addition of two thousand pounds per a<hi rend="overline">n</hi> out of the civil list]</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">&amp;</add> in the <lb xml:id="l40"/>end of the time htere will be nothing left to satisfy the King <lb xml:id="l41"/>for the <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">5</add>71868<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi>. <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">A</add>nd if he would sell the Tin faster he must <lb xml:id="l42"/>sell it for a <del type="strikethrough">lower price, <del type="cancelled">&amp;</del> <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> would</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">price still lower &amp; thereby</add> increase the discontent of <lb xml:id="l43"/>Cornwall. So <del type="strikethrough">the King by</del> a renewal of the contract for only <lb xml:id="l44"/>four years would create a loss to king of above half a <lb xml:id="l45"/>million of money. And if it be still greater, <del type="cancelled">&amp;</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">besides that</add> it will every year grow more &amp; more <lb xml:id="l46"/>difficult to put an end to these contracts without ruining Cornwall.</p>
