                <p rend="indent10" xml:id="par1">Proposals for preserving &amp; encreasing the Coyn of this Kingdom. <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="1"/></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par2">All <del type="strikethrough">silver (whether Ingots Plate or Virgin silver)</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">Spanish Barrs &amp; other Ingots of silver &amp; all Virgin silver &amp; <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">all</add> other silver Bullion</add> <add place="supralinear" indicator="no"><hi rend="superscript">2</hi></add> imported &amp; designed for <lb xml:id="l1"/>exportation shall upon it<choice><orig>'</orig><reg/></choice>s first coming up the river of Thames to the <lb xml:id="l2"/>Custome house be brought to the Mint by the Master of the ship &amp; <lb xml:id="l3"/>one <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">or more</add> other witnesses who shall there shew their Bill of lading &amp; prove <lb xml:id="l4"/>the importation upon oath. And the said Virgin silver <del type="strikethrough">Plate &amp;</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">&amp; Bullion not yet <unclear reason="hand"><del type="over"><gap reason="del" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">d</add>un<del type="over"><gap reason="del" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add></unclear> into in<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">g</add>ots <choice><sic>&amp;</sic><corr type="noText"/></choice></add> &amp; all forreign <lb xml:id="l5"/>monies designed for exportation shall be there melted into Ingots. And these <lb xml:id="l6"/>Ingots &amp; all other ingots <del type="strikethrough">of sil</del> above mentioned shall at the choise of the <lb xml:id="l7"/>Merchant be either coyned into monies or marked <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> a stamp provid<lb xml:id="l8"/>ed in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint for that purpose. And the Master of the Mint <del type="strikethrough">shall</del> <lb xml:id="l9"/>if desired shall give the Merchant an indented Ticket certifying the <lb xml:id="l10"/>weight of the monies coyned out of the said <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="3"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">fo</add>reign <del type="strikethrough">gold</del> silver <del type="strikethrough">&amp; the</del> <lb xml:id="l11"/>&amp; the time of coynage thereof: <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> Ticket shall be cut out a Book <lb xml:id="l12"/><del type="strikethrough">to be</del> kept in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint &amp; shall be entered in the same book.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par3">Ingots not markt <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint stamp may not be exported nor <lb xml:id="l13"/>carried into any ship nor bought or sold but may be brought to the Mint for encreasing the coyn of this kingdom. This law now obteins <lb xml:id="l14"/>in France by an Edict of March was a twelvemonth for prevent<lb xml:id="l15"/>ing <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">the melting</add> down of the monies.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par4"><del type="blockStrikethrough"><del type="strikethrough">The Merchan<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">t</add> upon delivering the Mint Tickets</del> at <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Custome-<lb xml:id="l16"/><del type="strikethrough">house may <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice>in a year after</del></del></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par5"><del type="blockStrikethrough"><del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="3"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">All</add> Ingots <del type="strikethrough">of silver</del> <del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">ex</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">im</add>ported from Ireland, Flander <del type="strikethrough">or Holland <unclear reason="del" cert="low">tho</unclear> <lb xml:id="l17"/>the Law <unclear reason="del" cert="low">coun</unclear></del> Holland <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">or any <del type="strikethrough">any</del> Port within or bordering upon the British as</add> shall be converted into monies for increasing the coyn <lb xml:id="l18"/>of this kingdom &amp; not <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">be</add> exported <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">from hence</add> unless it s<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">h</add>all  be proved that the same w<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add>re <lb xml:id="l19"/>not <del type="strikethrough">melted down <del type="cancelled"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">of</unclear></del> out</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">made</add> of English monies <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">melted down</add> on those counrties <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">or Ports</add> but imported thither <lb xml:id="l20"/>from some place without <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> bounds of the said s<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add>as.</del></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par6">Ing<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>ts imported from Ireland Flanders Holland or any Port within or bordering <lb xml:id="l21"/>upon the British seas shall <del type="strikethrough">be converted into monies not be exported nor <lb xml:id="l22"/>carried into any shop nor bought or sold but</del> shall be brought to the Mint <lb xml:id="l23"/>f<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>r increasing the coyn of this kingdom<del type="over">.</del><add place="over" indicator="no">,</add> <del type="cancelled">The</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">&amp; not markt for exportation</add> unless it can be proved that <lb xml:id="l24"/>the said Ingots were not <del type="strikethrough"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del> made (in whole <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">or</add> in par) of English monies melted <lb xml:id="l25"/>down in those countries or Ports but <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">were</add> imported thither from some place <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice>out <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l26"/>bounds of those <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">s</add>eas. For proof whereof <del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">a</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">t</add>he oath <del type="strikethrough">made <del type="cancelled"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">of</unclear></del> in</del> of two witnesses <lb xml:id="l27"/>grounded either upon their own knowledge or upon <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> oath of other two <lb xml:id="l28"/>witnesses taken <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>broad in their presence shall be sufficient.</p>
