Proposals for preserving & encreasing the current coyn of this Kingdoom.

It being the business of the Officers of the Mint to preserve & encrease the coyn of this kingdom & for that end it being fit that they should understand yethe course of trade in relation to the importation & exportation of gold & silver by yethe Merchant, that they may be able & be able upon occasions to give an account thereof to the government. iIt is proposed that no gold or silver (except pieces of 8) be exported but what has been first brought to yethe Mint & there examined & allowed to be forreign gold or silver & entred as such & at yethe choise of the importer Merchant either coyned or marked in yethe Ingot wthwith a mark provided for ytthat purpose. For wchwhich end all peicespieces of 8 & other forreign monies & P&oundss or Virgin& Poundse or Virgin shall be first melted into Ingots in the Mint the Merchant paying prper lwtpound weight for the melting. BBut no Ingots besides Spanish barrs shall be received at yethe Mint as forreigeign silver
