                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par2">Whereas Our High Treasurer of England hath laid <lb xml:id="l5"/>before us A Report made by You the Officers of Our Mint <lb xml:id="l6"/>on the <choice><abbr>petic<hi rend="overline">on</hi></abbr><expan>peticion</expan></choice> of the Gravers of Our said Mint. Wherein <lb xml:id="l7"/>they Represent That good Graveing is the best Security of <lb xml:id="l8"/>the Coyne of Our Kingdome, And best acquir'd by Graveing <lb xml:id="l9"/>of Medalls, That without Exercise in such Graveing the <lb xml:id="l10"/>Gravers may in time lose the skill which they have already <lb xml:id="l11"/>acquir'd. And that it is the Duty of You the Master &amp; Worker <lb xml:id="l12"/>of Our Mint, to take Care that the Money be well Coyned <lb xml:id="l13"/>And have therefore proposed, That You the Master &amp; Worker <lb xml:id="l14"/>of Our said Mint, may be Impower'd by Us to give leave <lb xml:id="l15"/>to the said Gravers or any of them, to make and sell such <lb xml:id="l16"/>Medalls of fine Gold, &amp; fine Silver, as doe not relate to state <lb xml:id="l17"/>Affaires, And that upon such Medalls as shall be made for <lb xml:id="l18"/>rewarding persons for their good services to Us, to Impress <lb xml:id="l19"/>the service for which such Medalls are given <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>:</abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Date <lb xml:id="l20"/>And that You be further Impower'd to Direct &amp; require the <lb xml:id="l21"/>said Gravers and Every of them, to make such other Medalls of fine Gold, fine silver, and fine Copper <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>:</abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> plain Historicall <lb xml:id="l22"/>Designs and <choice><abbr>Inscripc<hi rend="overline">on</hi>s</abbr><expan>Inscripcions</expan></choice> in Memory of great Actions as shall <lb xml:id="l23"/>be approved of by You the said Warden, Master, &amp; Comptroller <lb xml:id="l24"/>of Our Mint, And to make Embossments, Puncheons, Dyes, <lb xml:id="l25"/>and other Instruments requisite for Coyning the same <lb xml:id="l26"/>According to such Orders as they or any of them respectively <lb xml:id="l27"/>shall from time to time receive from You the said Master <lb xml:id="l28"/>and Worker of Our Mint and not otherwise. Wee haveing <lb xml:id="l29"/>taken the premises into Our Royall <choice><abbr>Considera<hi rend="overline">co</hi>n</abbr><expan>Consideracion</expan></choice> are <lb xml:id="l30"/>Gratiously pleas'd to approve thereof, And accordingly <lb xml:id="l31"/><hi rend="large">Our Will and Pleasure</hi> is <hi rend="large">And wee</hi> doe hereby Authorize <fw type="catch" place="bottomRight">and</fw><pb xml:id="p002r" n="2r"/> And Impower You Our said Master &amp; Worker of Our Mint <lb xml:id="l32"/>to give Liberty to the said Gravers to make such Medalls from <lb xml:id="l33"/>time to time of fine Gold, and fine Silver for the <choice><abbr>Improvem<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Improvement</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l34"/>of the Art of Graveing as doe not relate to State Affaires <lb xml:id="l35"/>taking Care that such of them as shall be for Rewarding <lb xml:id="l36"/>Persons for good Services to Us, have Impress'd upon them <lb xml:id="l37"/>the service for which such Medalls were given with the <lb xml:id="l38"/>Date. <hi rend="large">And Our Further Pleasure is And wee</hi> doe hereby <lb xml:id="l39"/>Impower You likewise to Direct and require the said G<unclear reason="copy" cert="low">rave</unclear> <lb xml:id="l40"/>and every of them to make such other Historicall Medalls <lb xml:id="l41"/>in Memory of great Actions as shall be approved of by <lb xml:id="l42"/>the Warden, Master and Worker, and Comptroller of Our <lb xml:id="l43"/>Mint aforesaid. <hi rend="large">And</hi> in Order thereunto to direct them <lb xml:id="l44"/>to make such Embossments, Puncheons, Dyes &amp; other <choice><abbr>Instrum<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></abbr><expan>Instruments</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l45"/>as shall be requisite for Coyning the same. For all which <lb xml:id="l46"/>this shall be Your Warrant. Given at Our Court at. <lb xml:id="l47"/>Kensington the second day of November 1706 In the <lb xml:id="l48"/>Fifth Year of Our Reigne.</p>
