                <p rend="indent10" xml:id="par1"><add place="marginLeft" indicator="no">Com Westm<hi rend="superscript">er</hi> Ss.</add> The <choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="overline">aio</hi>n</abbr><expan>Information</expan></choice> of <persName>John Harrisson</persName> of <placeName>Middleton</placeName> in this <lb xml:id="l1"/>County taken before <persName>James Grahme</persName> <choice><abbr>Esq<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>Esquire</expan></choice> &amp;c.<hi rend="superscript">t</hi><hi rend="superscript">t</hi> <date>Nov.<hi rend="superscript">er</hi> 4. 1704</date>.</p>
                <p xml:id="par2">The said <persName>John Harrisson</persName> deposeth upon Oath that on <date>fryday the <lb xml:id="l2"/>third Instant</date> he goeing into <placeName>Lancashire</placeName> to seek a Horse of his Fathers <lb xml:id="l3"/><choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> he suspected to be stolen or Stray'd, that he met with one <persName>John Ham̄and</persName> <lb xml:id="l4"/>(as he calls himselfe) of <placeName>preston in Wensedale in the County of york</placeName>, who <lb xml:id="l5"/>being a Stranger and idleing about, seized upon him as a vagrant, &amp; as a suspitious person, being out of the Kings highway, where some <lb xml:id="l6"/>Cloaths were hanging on a neigbours Hedge, and did there see the said <lb xml:id="l7"/><persName>Ham̄ond</persName> handleing and twineing them, he this <choice><abbr>Depon.<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Deponent</expan></choice> Stopt him but finding <lb xml:id="l8"/>nothing that they could lay to his Charge concerning the Cloaths, he this <lb xml:id="l9"/><choice><abbr>Depon.<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Deponent</expan></choice> and severall others of the neighbourhoud let him goe. but this <choice><abbr>Depon.<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Deponent</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l10"/>still suspecting that the <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>Said</expan></choice> <persName>Ham̄ond</persName> did loijter there upon some ill design, <lb xml:id="l11"/>stopped him again and upon searching him he and some neighbours <lb xml:id="l12"/>finding some Ropes and something like a Slipp, they Suspected might <lb xml:id="l13"/>be for catching and leading away horses (there being many Stoln in <lb xml:id="l14"/>this Countrey) pursued him again and found him lying on his back <lb xml:id="l15"/>in <placeName>a Wood call'd the Hagg</placeName>, and then brought him into the Highway <lb xml:id="l16"/>where the <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>Said</expan></choice> <persName>John Hamond</persName>, proffered 1.<hi rend="superscript">s</hi> a peice to 3. <choice><abbr>ꝑsons</abbr><expan>persons</expan></choice> then p<hi rend="superscript">re</hi>sent <lb xml:id="l17"/>to let him goe away, &amp; this is all this <choice><abbr>Depon.<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Deponent</expan></choice> can say. <lb xml:id="l18"/>
