Westm<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. <hi rend="large">}</hi> Ss</add> The <choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="overline">aio</hi>n</abbr><expan>Information</expan></choice> of <persName>Joanna Thornton</persName> Widdow liveing near <lb xml:id="l1"/><placeName>Nibb's Pound in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Parish of S.<hi rend="superscript">t</hi> Martin's in the feilds</placeName> taken upon <lb xml:id="l2"/>oath this <date>19.<hi rend="superscript">th</hi> day of November 1701</date>.</p>
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par2">Who saith that upon Satturday last was a month <persName>William Goslin</persName> (now <lb xml:id="l3"/>in Custody) came to this Informants house &amp; took a Garrott of her and <lb xml:id="l4"/>barganed to pay her 12. pence a week for the same, And further Saith <lb xml:id="l5"/>that upon the next Monday following <persName>Joanna the Wife of Samson <lb xml:id="l6"/>Hodges</persName> came to this Informants house, to inquire if the said <persName>Goslin</persName> was <lb xml:id="l7"/>within, and upon his comeing unto her they im̄ediately went forth <lb xml:id="l8"/>togeather, And he said <persName>William Goslin</persName> returning, enquired of this <choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Informant</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l9"/>whether she had another Room to Lett, and at the same time he the <lb xml:id="l10"/>said <persName>Goslin</persName> did recomend the <choice><abbr>afores<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>aforesaid</expan></choice> <persName>Samson Hodges</persName> &amp; his Wide for lodg<hi rend="superscript">ers</hi> <lb xml:id="l11"/>to this <choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Informant</expan></choice> saying <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> he knew them to be honest people, and <lb xml:id="l12"/>was well acquainted with them, whereupon she this Informant <lb xml:id="l13"/>did entertain the said <persName><choice><sic>Sampon</sic><corr>Samson</corr></choice> &amp; his Wife Joanna Hodges</persName>, and did <lb xml:id="l14"/>let them a Room under that of the <choice><abbr>afores<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>aforesaid</expan></choice> <persName>William Goslin</persName> for 18<hi rend="superscript">d</hi> <choice><abbr>ꝑ</abbr><expan>per</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l15"/>week. And she further upon her Oath saith that the <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>Said</expan></choice> <persName>Sampson <lb xml:id="l16"/>Hodges and Joanna his Wife</persName> did frequently be togeather in <persName>Goslin</persName>s <lb xml:id="l17"/>Rooms with him, and were very often useing this Informants Bellows <lb xml:id="l18"/>and when she this <choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Informant</expan></choice> Sent a Girl (which she keeps) up Staires for <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l19"/><choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>Said</expan></choice> bellows, they would not Suffer the Child to go into the Room, but <lb xml:id="l20"/>give her them out at the Stair-head, and hasten her all they <lb xml:id="l21"/>could down Staires as the said Girl has told this Informant. <lb xml:id="l22"/>And she further saith that she has observed one Antient Man in <lb xml:id="l23"/>mean apparrell come Severall times to enquire after the <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>Said</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l24"/>Lodgers, but she this Informant doth not know his Name. And <lb xml:id="l25"/>She further saith <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> when the Constable with other Persons came <lb xml:id="l26"/>to Search her house, she went readily along with them into all <lb xml:id="l27"/>the Roomes, and did See them take out of a hole behind an old <lb xml:id="l28"/>Chest, which was in the Roome of <persName>William Goslin</persName> <choice><abbr>afores<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>aforesaid</expan></choice> Flasks <lb xml:id="l29"/>ready Moulded to cast money there in, with some counterfeit money &amp; <lb xml:id="l30"/>Metall in an old fire pan (which she this Informant doth own <lb xml:id="l31"/>to be hers) togeather with other Materialls <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> she this Informant knows not <lb xml:id="l32"/>the use of only as she was told by the persons who Search't her house.
