                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par1">The Deponent <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Holland deposeth that <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 3 yeares <lb xml:id="l1"/>since or above he did <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>.</abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> one <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Abbot go to see one Arthur <lb xml:id="l2"/>Gardner who then lived near Westm<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi></orig><reg>inster</reg></choice> Abby when they came to <lb xml:id="l3"/>the said Gardner's house Gardner called up Abbot and <lb xml:id="l4"/>in some litle tyme afterwards this Deponent and shewed <lb xml:id="l5"/>them a Press which he was coyning <choice><sic>Gineas</sic><corr>Guineas</corr></choice> with</p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par2">This Deponent likewise deposeth that he hath oftentimes <lb xml:id="l6"/>sold clippings for the said Gardner and <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> he hath often <lb xml:id="l7"/>seen one <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ames Blundell clipp and coyn old money <lb xml:id="l8"/>at one M<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi>. Langford's who then kept the Red Lyon in the <lb xml:id="l9"/>old Iury and that the said Langford's daughter with one <lb xml:id="l10"/>Ha<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">n</hi></orig><reg>nn</reg></choice>ah or martha Cooke with one Rob<hi rend="superscript">t</hi> Wells who was executed <lb xml:id="l11"/>for clipping did work with the said Blundell and that since the <lb xml:id="l12"/>said Wells was executed he did see the said Blundell cast old money <lb xml:id="l13"/>which was <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 3 years and odd months since</p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par3">And that <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 4 years since he did see one Charles Morley <lb xml:id="l14"/>who then had taken the Shepherd Tavern in Cheapside <lb xml:id="l15"/>coyn a mill'd King <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ames's shilling by casting at his house <lb xml:id="l16"/>up staires before he was quite settled but upon the Newes that <lb xml:id="l17"/>Rob<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>. Wells was taken up the said Morley did gett this <choice><abbr>Depon<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Deponent</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l18"/>to ca<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">r</hi></orig><reg>rr</reg></choice>y his Tooles to <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Abbots but Abbot's wife refusing <lb xml:id="l19"/>to take them in they were afterwards lodged with a <lb xml:id="l20"/>Poulterer that lived next door to the said Abbots Gate</p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par4">And <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 4 yeares since he hath seen one Thomas Clay <lb xml:id="l21"/>and his wife who then kept a Hosiers shop near <lb xml:id="l22"/>Smithfield Barrs clip and coyn old money and that the <choice><abbr>sd</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l23"/>Clay being impeached by one Whitebread he hid himselfe <lb xml:id="l24"/>with one Collins at this <choice><abbr>Depon<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></abbr><expan>Deponents</expan></choice> house untill Clay made his <lb xml:id="l25"/>escape for Holland And that he hath often seen one <lb xml:id="l26"/>Hector Thomas <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 3 yeares and a half ago clipp in his <lb xml:id="l27"/>Master <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Abbot's house And that he hath seen <lb xml:id="l28"/>one Nicho Charleton coyn old money and his wife clipp <lb xml:id="l29"/>at a Gardiner's house in Lambeth's Marsh <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 4 yeares since <lb xml:id="l30"/>And that one Elizabeth Wilson took a room of this Deponent <lb xml:id="l31"/>and that one <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>oseph Simpson did come often to this Wilson <lb xml:id="l32"/>with broad money and they used to clip it in the said <lb xml:id="l33"/>Wilsons room as this Deponent hath often seen them</p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par5">And that for many yeares he hath known one Thomas <lb xml:id="l34"/>Atkinson and his wife to be Clippers and Coyners he having seen <lb xml:id="l35"/>them clipp and coyn Old money and new money and <choice><sic>Gineas</sic><corr>Guineas</corr></choice> <lb xml:id="l36"/>And that <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 2 yeares ago he and the said Atkinson did <lb xml:id="l37"/>agree to go to Ireland to coyn as may appear by a letter <lb xml:id="l38"/>the said Atkinson writt to this Deponent in Lancashire <lb xml:id="l39"/>but the <choice><abbr>Depon<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Deponent</expan></choice> comeing for Dublin was <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>per</reg></choice>swade<choice><orig/><reg><supplied reason="omitted">d</supplied></reg></choice> to <lb xml:id="l40"/>make a Discovery of Coyners which comeing to the ear of <lb xml:id="l41"/>the said Atkinson prevented him from comeing to Ireland</p>

                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par7"><choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Holland further deposeth that <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 2 yeares and 3 months <lb xml:id="l44"/>since he being with one Thomas Atkinson his wife and a yorkshire <lb xml:id="l45"/>man in Spitle Fields whom this <choice><abbr>Depon<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Deponent</expan></choice> thinks went by the name of <lb xml:id="l46"/>Robinson the said Atkinson telling his wife that he and his friend <lb xml:id="l47"/>Robinson had 2 nights before at the Blackhorse in Goodmans <lb xml:id="l48"/>fields where they were forced to pawn their Coates for <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Recconing <lb xml:id="l49"/>and there arising a Dispute between Atkinson and Robinson <unclear reason="hand" cert="low">as</unclear> <lb xml:id="l50"/>who should go for the Coates at last Robinson agreed to go for <lb xml:id="l51"/>them who no sooner had got to the black horse but he was <lb xml:id="l52"/>seized by one Morris a messeng<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</orig><reg>er</reg></choice> there being with Morris one <lb xml:id="l53"/><space dim="horizontal" unit="chars" extent="10"/> who was Atkinson's Mistres who had made Oath <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l54"/>Atkinson did coyn a <choice><sic>Ginea</sic><corr>Guinea</corr></choice> and shilling she had of the <choice><abbr>s<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> Atkinson <lb xml:id="l55"/>and she bid the said Morris take notice of Atkinson's Coat so that <lb xml:id="l56"/>morris might know Atkinsons by that Coat as this <choice><abbr>Depon<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Deponent</expan></choice> was <lb xml:id="l57"/>informed by Atkinson's wife this <choice><abbr>Depon<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Deponent</expan></choice> was likewise <lb xml:id="l58"/>informed in some litle time afterwards by the said M<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi> Atkinson <lb xml:id="l59"/>that the said Robinson was kept in custody 4 dayes by the said <lb xml:id="l60"/>Morris and then discharged upon Morris's receiving of 40 <lb xml:id="l61"/><choice><sic>Gineas</sic><corr>Guineas</corr></choice> from the said M<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi>. Atkinson and that his wife told him <lb xml:id="l62"/>at Dublin in Ireland that the aforesaid mrs Atkinson told <lb xml:id="l63"/>her in London that her husband Thomas Atkinson <del type="strikethrough">to</del> was taken <lb xml:id="l64"/>into custody by the aforesaid Morris in Octob<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. 1697 and that it <lb xml:id="l65"/>cost him thirty <choice><sic>Gineas</sic><corr>Guineas</corr></choice> to gett off againe which money was paid <lb xml:id="l66"/>to the persons that took him in custody</p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par8">And that he hath seen one Chuter who keeps a Piece Brokes <lb xml:id="l67"/>shopp in Cloth fair change broad money with Thomas Atkinson <lb xml:id="l68"/>and that the said Thomas Atkinson allowed the said Chuter sometimes <lb xml:id="l69"/>3<hi rend="superscript">s</hi><choice><orig>.</orig><reg/></choice>, 3<hi rend="superscript">s</hi> 6<hi rend="superscript">d</hi> and four shillings in the pound <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 4 years agoe</p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par9">And that 4 yeares and <formula><math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><mfrac><mn>1</mn><mn>2</mn></mfrac></math></formula> he did carry severall summes of money for <tei:lb xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" xml:id="l70"/>one Ce<tei:unclear xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" reason="hand" cert="low">p</tei:unclear>ar Life a Furrier to one Rob<tei:hi xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" rend="superscript">t</tei:hi>.
