                <p rend="center" xml:id="par1">The further Informa<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>on of Mary Miller now a prisoner in <lb xml:id="l1"/>Newgate 22<hi rend="superscript">d</hi> August 1698</p>
                
                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par2">Who sayth that <choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> the beginning of Iuly last past this <choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Informant</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l2"/>was at the house of one M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Whitfield at the Crown and Sceptre <lb xml:id="l3"/>near the monum<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">t</hi></orig><reg>ent</reg></choice> Dyall in the New buildings by Long<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l4"/>acre in company with one Tho Atkinson <gap reason="hand" unit="words" extent="3"/> tall <lb xml:id="l5"/>black man M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Whitfield and his wife Vrsula, George <lb xml:id="l6"/><choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohnston and Margery his wife, and this <choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Informant</expan></choice> did then

                    and there see in the custody of the said Thomas Atkinson one hundred <lb xml:id="l7"/>and <unclear reason="hand" cert="high">odd</unclear> false pistolls and the said Atkinson did propose to this <lb xml:id="l8"/><choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Informant</expan></choice> to go into the countrey with Whitfield in order to put off <lb xml:id="l9"/>some of the <choice><abbr>s<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> false Gold and said that this <choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Informant</expan></choice> need not <lb xml:id="l10"/>fear any trouble for that Whitfield should carry all the false <lb xml:id="l11"/>Gold, only this <choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Informant</expan></choice> should have one Good <choice><sic>Ginea</sic><corr>Guinea</corr></choice> and a bad one <lb xml:id="l12"/>and as she put off the false <choice><sic>Ginea</sic><corr>Guinea</corr></choice> she should receive another false one <lb xml:id="l13"/>from Whitfield and so receive a false <choice><sic>Ginea</sic><corr>Guinea</corr></choice> at a time from <lb xml:id="l14"/>Whitfield till she had put off the full quantity they intended to <lb xml:id="l15"/>take into the countrey and the said Atkinson Whitfield and <lb xml:id="l16"/>Geo <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohnson did further propose to this <choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Informant</expan></choice> that after they <lb xml:id="l17"/>had paid away the false <choice><sic>Ginea</sic><corr>Guinea</corr></choice> and pistoles as aforesaid they <lb xml:id="l18"/>would all with this <choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Informant</expan></choice> go into Ireland on purpose to colour <lb xml:id="l19"/>their Dessign of putting off false Gold and Silver and that this <lb xml:id="l20"/><choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Informant</expan></choice> should be equall sharer in the proffitt which would <lb xml:id="l21"/>arise by their putting away <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">counterfeit</add> Gold and money and this <choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Informant</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l22"/>was <choice><sic>latly</sic><corr>lately</corr></choice> told that the said Thomas Atkinson is <choice><sic>latly</sic><corr>lately</corr></choice> come out <lb xml:id="l23"/>of the countrey Viz within 3 miles of the City of Bristoll <lb xml:id="l24"/>where the false <choice><sic>Gineas</sic><corr>Guineas</corr></choice> and silver is coyned as this <choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Informant</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l25"/>hath been told and the <choice><abbr><hi rend="overline">sd</hi></abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> Atkinson hath brought with him <lb xml:id="l26"/><choice><abbr>abo<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> 300<hi rend="superscript">℔</hi>. of counterfeit money and intends to put it away at <lb xml:id="l27"/>Bartholomew Fair ensueing Atkinson's horse stands at <lb xml:id="l28"/>the Naggs head at the upper end of S<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>. Martin's Lane <lb xml:id="l29"/>he hath also a house in Rosemary Lane by Tower hill <lb xml:id="l30"/>And this <choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Informant</expan></choice> further saith That a short set Elderly man <lb xml:id="l31"/>told her of Thomas Atkinson's comeing out of the countrey <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>.</abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l32"/>false money and offer<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</orig><reg>ed</reg></choice> to let this <choice><abbr>Inform<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Informant</expan></choice> have false money</p>
