In obedience to yor.your LordspsLordships Order on Saturday Last that we should lay before yor:your LordspLordship what we think proper to be done for setting on foot wthwith all convenient speed the Coynage in yethe Mint at Edinburgh & for trying yethe Pix of that Mint before Her Majtes.Majesties Council of Scotland: We humbly represent that in Conformity to yethe Act of Vnion We conceive there should be made by a jury of Goldsmiths seven Indented Trial-pieces of Crown Gold & seven of standard silver; two of Each metal to be kept in yethe two Treasurys to try yethe pieces of yethe two Mints. two of each for yethe Wardens of yethe two Mints to try yethe Moneys before delivery & to decide Questions between yethe Master & Importer about yethe fineness of Bullion; two of each for yethe Masters of yethe two Mints to make yethe Moneys by & one of each for yethe Wardens & Company of Goldsmiths to try theire Plate & other manufactures of Gold & Silver & also that a pile of standard Troy Weights be made by yethe Deputy Chamberlaines of yethe Exchequer for yethe Treasury of Scotland & two other Piles by yethe Warden of this Mint in yethe prresencnce of yethe other Officers thereof in such manner that yethe smaller weights be in a proportion to yethe greater as yethe Indenture of yethe Mint directs; & that all these Piles be printed like yethe Weights sent to yethe Corporations, & one of yethe two Piles be delivered to yor.your LordspsLordships order for yethe Mint in Scotland.

And We are further humbly of Opinion that untill an Indenture can be drawn up between Her MajtiMajesti & yethe Master of yethe Mint at Edinburgh prscrescribing yethe Duty of every Officer in ꝑparticulacular, the Coynage may be there set on fot by Her MajtisMajesties Warrant directed to yethe GenllGenerall & other Officers of that Mint, wthwith a Copy of yethe present Indenture of yethe Mint in yethe Tower annexed to it authoriseing & requiring them to Act under yethe rules there set down wchwhich rotate to theire severall Officerss & ꝑparticularularly. That the Master Coyn all yethe Moneys of yethe Weight & Fineness & within yethe Remedys there appointed & take care that yethe several pieces be not lighter then theire Counterpoise & that yethe Warden & Counter Warden survey & charge yethe proceedings of all yethe other Officers & minuters, & see that yethe Moneys be well & duly Coyned in all respects & an exact account kept of yethe Dyes & Puncheons

And We humbly conceive another Warrant if Her MajtieMajestie pleases may be directed to yethe Master of that Mint nameing yethe species to be Coyned by him & requireing him to Coyn one tenth part of yethe silver into sixpences & four tenths into shillings & 3 tenths into half Crowns & yethe rest into Crown pieces as was done in yethe Late recoynage in England & authoriseing him to comanmand the Graver to make puncheons & Dyes for Coyning yethe said Moneys of yethe very same forme wth.with the Money. Coyned in yethe Tower of London & to use such Master Puncheons as shall be sent him from yethe Tower for makeing yethe Moneys of both Mints perfectly alike untill yethe Puncheons made by himself shall be approved by yethe Officers of that Mint, & to sett yethe Letter E (the first Letter of yethe name of yethe City of Edinburgh) under Her Majties.Majesties Effigies as in yethe Specimens of Dyes wch.which will be sent him from yethe Tower that yethe Moneys of the two Mints may be thereby distinguished.
