                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par2">May it please <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">p</hi>.</abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par3">In Obedience to your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi>.</abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> Order of Reference upon the two memorials of Hen. Smithson relating <lb xml:id="l2"/>to prosecutions against false Coyners since Ian. 1710, together with an Account of his charges in carrying <lb xml:id="l3"/>on the same, we have considered the matters conteined therein &amp; heard him thereupon &amp; find that he <lb xml:id="l4"/>had no Order from the Warden of the Mint for performing the services expresst in his Bill except the <lb xml:id="l5"/>prosecution of Horsman &amp; Robinson for which he was allowed in M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Weddals Account. That upon Accounts <lb xml:id="l6"/>stated between him &amp; M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Weddal a little before M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Weddels death, he was indebted to M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Weddel above <lb xml:id="l7"/>five pounds as appears by his <del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">n</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">N</add>ote under his hand and as he acknowledged in a Letter to M<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi>. Weddel since <lb xml:id="l8"/>the death of her Husband. And in general it did not appear to us that any moneys were due to him for <lb xml:id="l9"/>prosecuting under the Warden, except a bill of £10. 18. 2 <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi>.</abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> is incerted into M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Barrows Account <lb xml:id="l10"/>and was the only charge demanded by him at that time or before.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par4">And We further humbly represent to your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">p</hi>.</abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> that <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Thompson being examin'd by <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaac Newton <lb xml:id="l11"/>about what services he was able to do, could think of no services but such as were looked upon as too <lb xml:id="l12"/>stale to be regarded in Courts of Iustice and thereupon was dismist by the Warden for the present &amp; we <lb xml:id="l13"/>are satisfied that what Smithson represents against the Warden in relation to the said Thompson is groundless <lb xml:id="l14"/>false &amp; scandalous.</p>
