                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par2">May it Please Your Honour.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par3">This Day in the Gazette from Tuesday April the 27 to Saturday <lb xml:id="l1"/>May 1<hi rend="superscript">st</hi>: 1714 I had the good fortune to meet with an Answer of a Letter <lb xml:id="l2"/>Directed to the Most <choice><abbr>Hon<hi rend="superscript">ble</hi>:</abbr><expan>Honourable</expan></choice> the Lord High Treasurer of Great Britaine Relating <lb xml:id="l3"/>to Matters of certain Discoverys for the preservation of the <choice><abbr>Curr<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>:</abbr><expan>Current</expan></choice> Coin of this <lb xml:id="l4"/>Kingdom, and therein I am Ordered to Attend your Honours for that Purpose.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par4">But in Regard I have Run great Hazards by Conversing with some <lb xml:id="l5"/>persons concerned in that sort of Evil practice though only to find the Depth of <lb xml:id="l6"/>that Matter purely to Arme myself with such Knowledge that may be serviceable <lb xml:id="l7"/>the better to make out and Compleate what I have proposed &amp; if Encouraged it <lb xml:id="l8"/>will putt an End to all those things for Ever.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par5">Therefore I hope it will not be thought unreasonable that I shall Desire <lb xml:id="l9"/>my Pardon for all things that I have both seen and known in those Matters, before <lb xml:id="l10"/>I give my Attendance since I have ventured hard for no other End then to serve <lb xml:id="l11"/>my Native Country and that without charge if I shall be Encouraged so to Doe.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par6">Att the sight of which pardon I shall be ready to give my attendance <lb xml:id="l12"/>but not till some days after by Reason of Distance and will make out that <lb xml:id="l13"/>which will be satisfactory to your <choice><abbr>Hon<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi>.</abbr><expan>Honours</expan></choice> and to all good &amp; Well meaning people.</p>
