                <p xml:id="par3">In Obedience to Your Lordships Order of Reference of Sept: 25<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>: upon the <lb xml:id="l1"/>Annexed Memoriall of the <choice><abbr>Com<hi rend="overline">mr</hi>s</abbr><expan>Commissioners</expan></choice> for Managing Her Majestys Dutys on <lb xml:id="l2"/>Stampt <choice><sic>Vellom</sic><corr>Vellum</corr></choice> parchment and paper Wee have Advised with the said <lb xml:id="l3"/><choice><abbr>Com<hi rend="overline">mr</hi>s</abbr><expan>Commissioners</expan></choice> concerning new Dyes to be made for Stamping the same &amp; Concerni<add place="supralinear" indicator="no">ng</add> <lb xml:id="l4"/>several alterations proposed thereon for preventing the Counterfeiting of the <lb xml:id="l5"/>Stampt Butt no Alteration being absolutely agreed upon We are humbly of <lb xml:id="l6"/>Opinion that their Old Stamps be renewed without alteration at present, and <lb xml:id="l7"/>that the making of the penny stamp may deserve about 2<hi rend="superscript">£</hi>: 5<hi rend="superscript">s</hi> that of the Six <lb xml:id="l8"/>penny stamp about 3<hi rend="superscript">£</hi>: 10<hi rend="superscript">s</hi> that of the twelve penny stamp about 5<hi rend="superscript">£</hi>. and that <lb xml:id="l9"/>of the Crown Stamp about 10<hi rend="superscript">£</hi>. And whereas only the six penny stamp has been <lb xml:id="l10"/>discovered to be Counterfeited, and one M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Rollos has proposed to stamp the paper <lb xml:id="l11"/>between two Dyes for giving it the Deeper Impression &amp; to putt a Britannia <lb xml:id="l12"/>between the stamps Wee are humbly of Opinion that an Experiment of this <lb xml:id="l13"/>be made in the six penny stamp, either with or without a Britannia or some <lb xml:id="l14"/>other Convenient Figure and that after Trial the <choice><abbr>Comm<hi rend="overline">rs</hi></abbr><expan>Commissioners</expan></choice> may use it or Lay it <lb xml:id="l15"/>aside as they shall Iudge most Convenient And if it be found inconvenient <lb xml:id="l16"/>to stamp the paper between two Dyes, a new figure may be added to the old <lb xml:id="l17"/>stamps and put upon any Convenient part of the paper if it be not found too <lb xml:id="l18"/>troublesome in the Working</p>
