                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par1"><hi rend="larger">George by the Grace of God</hi> of Great Britain France &amp; Ireland <lb xml:id="l4"/>King, Defender of the Faith, &amp;c. To <hi rend="large">all</hi> to whom these presents shall Come <lb xml:id="l5"/>Greeting. <hi rend="large">Whereas</hi> Our late Royal Sister Anne Queen of Great Britaine <lb xml:id="l6"/>did by Her Letters patents under Her Great Seale of England bearing Date <lb xml:id="l7"/>at Westminster the Eleventh Day of Iune in the first year of Her Reign, Give <lb xml:id="l8"/>and Grant unto Her Trusty and Welbeloved Isaac Newton Esq<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. (since <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l9"/>Isaac Newton <choice><abbr>Kn<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Knight</expan></choice>) the Office of Master and Worker of all Her Moneys both <lb xml:id="l10"/>Gold &amp; Silver within Her Mint in Her Tower of London and elswhere in Her <lb xml:id="l11"/>Kingdome of England, with the Yearly Fee or Pension of Five Hundred pounds <lb xml:id="l12"/>payable in such manner as is therein men<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>ond. <hi rend="large">To have</hi> &amp; to hold the said office <lb xml:id="l13"/>unto the said Isaac Newton by Himself or his sufficient Deputy or Deputys, <lb xml:id="l14"/>(for whom he would be answerable) And also the said Fee or pension of Five <lb xml:id="l15"/>Hundred pounds together with all Edifices, Emoluments, Gardens, and other Fees <lb xml:id="l16"/>Allowances profits, priviledges, Franchises and Immunities belonging to the <lb xml:id="l17"/>aforesaid Office for &amp; during Her <choice><abbr>s<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> late <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi>:</abbr><expan>Majestys</expan></choice> pleasure as by the <choice><abbr>s<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> recited Letter <lb xml:id="l18"/>patents (<choice><abbr>rela<hi rend="overline">co</hi>n</abbr><expan>relation</expan></choice> being thereunto had) may more fully and at large appear. <lb xml:id="l19"/>In which said office according to the Forme of the Statute in such case made &amp; <lb xml:id="l20"/>provided He is continued for the space of Six Months from the Time of the Demise <lb xml:id="l21"/>of Her <choice><abbr>s<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> late Majesty unles He shall by us be sooner removed &amp; discharged from <lb xml:id="l22"/>the same. <hi rend="large">Now Know Yee</hi> that we have revoked &amp; determined, &amp; by these presents <lb xml:id="l23"/>do Revoke &amp; determine the said recited Letters patents, &amp; every Clause, Article &amp; <lb xml:id="l24"/>Thing therein contained. <hi rend="large">And further Know Yee</hi> that We for divers good Causes <lb xml:id="l25"/>and Considera<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>ons Vs thereunto moving of Our especial Grace, certain Know<lb type="intentional" xml:id="l26"/>ledge, &amp; meer motion <hi rend="large">Have</hi> Given &amp; granted &amp; by these presents do Give and <lb xml:id="l27"/>Grant unto Our Trusty and Welbeloved the <choice><abbr>s<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaac Newton, the office of <lb xml:id="l28"/>Master &amp; Worker of All Our Moneys both Gold &amp; Silver within Our Mint in Our <lb xml:id="l29"/>Tower of London &amp; Elswhere within that part of Our Kingdom of Great Britain <lb xml:id="l30"/>called England Together with the Fee or Yearly Pension of Five Hundred pound<supplied reason="copy">s</supplied> <lb xml:id="l31"/>to be Quarterly paid to Him from the time the same was last satisfyed out of <lb xml:id="l32"/>such Moneys as by any Act or Acts of <choice><abbr>Parliam<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>:</abbr><expan>Parliament</expan></choice> already made for Encouraging <lb xml:id="l33"/>of Coinage and allowed to be Issued Yearly out of Our <choice><abbr>Excheq<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>Exchequer</expan></choice> for the Fees &amp; Salarys <lb xml:id="l34"/>of the Officers of the Mint or Mints, &amp; towards the provideing, maintaining, and <lb xml:id="l35"/>repairing the Houses, Offices &amp; Buildings, &amp; other Vses in the <choice><abbr>s<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> Acts or any <lb xml:id="l36"/>of them men<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>ond for so long time as the same shall Continue in force, and after <lb xml:id="l37"/>the <choice><abbr>s<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> Act or Acts shall cease out of such other Money and in such other manner, <lb xml:id="l38"/>as shall by an Act or Acts of <choice><abbr>Parliam<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Parliament</expan></choice> hereafter to be made be appointed, or <lb xml:id="l39"/>allowed to be Issued out for the Fees or Salarys of the Officers of the Mint or Mints <lb xml:id="l40"/>And in default of any such Allowance or <choice><abbr>Appointm<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Appointment</expan></choice> to be hereafter made by <lb xml:id="l41"/><choice><abbr>Parliam<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Parliament</expan></choice>. Then the said Fee of Five Hundred pounds <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>per</reg></choice> <choice><abbr>Ann</abbr><expan>Annum</expan></choice> to be paid out of <lb xml:id="l42"/>Our <choice><sic>Seignorage</sic><corr>Seigniorage</corr></choice> or Allowance of Coiange for Gold &amp; Silver Moneys or other Our <lb xml:id="l43"/>profits of the Mint. <hi rend="large">And Know Yee</hi> also that we for the <choice><abbr>Consider<hi rend="overline">aco</hi>ns</abbr><expan>Considerations</expan></choice> afore<choice><abbr>s<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l44"/>Have Given &amp; granted &amp; by these presents do give &amp; grant unto the <choice><abbr>s<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaac <lb xml:id="l45"/>Newton, all Edifices Buildings, Gardens, &amp; other Fees, Allowances, profits, privilidge<supplied reason="copy">s</supplied> <lb xml:id="l46"/>Franchises &amp; Immunities belonging to the afore<choice><abbr>s<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> office <hi rend="large">To Have</hi>, hold, Exercise and <lb xml:id="l47"/>Enjoy the said Office of Master &amp; Worker to Him the <choice><abbr>s<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaac Newton by Himself or <lb xml:id="l48"/>his sufficient Deputy, or Deputys (for whom He will be Answerable) together with <lb xml:id="l49"/>the <choice><abbr>s<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> Fee or Yearly pension of Five Hundred pounds &amp; the <choice><abbr>s<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> Houses Edifices, <lb xml:id="l50"/>Buildings, Gardens, &amp; other Fees, Allowances, profits, Advantages, privilidges, Franchi<supplied reason="damage">ses</supplied> <lb xml:id="l51"/>Libertys &amp; Immunities for &amp; during Our pleasure in as full &amp; ample Manner as <lb xml:id="l52"/>He the said <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaac Newton or any other person or persons heretofore holding or <lb xml:id="l53"/>Exercising the said Office have had, held, or enjoyed, or ought to have had, hold, or enjoyed <lb xml:id="l54"/>the same. <hi rend="large">Provided</hi> always &amp; under this <choice><abbr>Condic<hi rend="overline">on</hi></abbr><expan>Condition</expan></choice> And Our Will &amp; Pleasure is that the <lb xml:id="l55"/>said <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> Isaac Newton after He is in possession of the said Office by Virtue of these presents <lb xml:id="l56"/>shall within three months next after Signifycation of Our pleasure in that Behalfe by the <lb xml:id="l57"/>Commissioenrs of Our Treasury, or Our High <choice><abbr>Trea<hi rend="overline">re</hi>r</abbr><expan>Treasurer</expan></choice> of Great Britain for the time being <lb xml:id="l58"/>make &amp; Execute on His part, such Indenture &amp; <choice><abbr>Agreem<hi rend="overline">ts</hi></abbr><expan>Agreements</expan></choice> for &amp; Concerning the makeing of the <lb xml:id="l59"/>several sorts of Money Gold &amp; Silver, and for the <choice><abbr>paym<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>payment</expan></choice> of the <choice><abbr>sev<hi rend="superscript">l</hi>.</abbr><expan>several</expan></choice> officers of the Mints &amp; other <lb xml:id="l60"/>Matters &amp; things relating thereunto, &amp; to the Execution of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>s<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> Office as were formerly made <lb xml:id="l61"/><choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>.</abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> Alterations &amp; <choice><abbr>Addico<hi rend="overline">n</hi>s</abbr><expan>Additions</expan></choice> if Any shall be thought fit, &amp; directed by Vs for the better <choice><abbr>Managem<hi rend="superscript">t</hi><supplied reason="foxed">.</supplied></abbr><expan>Management</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l62"/>&amp; Carrying on of that Service.
