Taylour the 21<hi rend="superscript">st</hi>. August <lb xml:id="l4"/>last, upon the Annexed Memorial of M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Brydges for <lb xml:id="l5"/>Directions as to the Rate that French Current money <lb xml:id="l6"/>shall be Computed at for the subsistence of Her <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="overline">tie</hi>s</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l7"/>Forces in Dunkirk, and Y<choice><abbr>o<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>our</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lords<hi rend="superscript">p</hi>.</abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> Directing Vs to <lb xml:id="l8"/>Consult Sir Isaac Newton thereon.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par4"><hi rend="large">We</hi> the Comptrollers of the Accounts of the <lb xml:id="l9"/>Army and Master Worker of Her Majesties Mint, Do <lb xml:id="l10"/>humbly Report to Y<choice><abbr>o<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>our</expan></choice> Lordship, That Twenty shillings <lb xml:id="l11"/>sterling pass at Dunkirk for Seventeen Livres, but are <lb xml:id="l12"/>worth (Intrinsick Vallue) Nineteen Livres thirteen sols <lb xml:id="l13"/>which Leaves a Loss of two Livres thirteen Sols or two <lb xml:id="l14"/>shillings eight pence sterling Whereas in Flanders <lb xml:id="l15"/>the Loss is but about twelve stivers, or One Shilling <lb xml:id="l16"/>two pence sterling (whereof about half was borne <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">by</add> <lb xml:id="l17"/>the Queen) as appears by the Annexed Computation.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par5"><hi rend="large">We</hi> further Observe to Your <choice><abbr>Lords<hi rend="superscript">p</hi>.</abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> That We <lb xml:id="l18"/>cannot yet learne what may be the Loss of buying 
                    
                    <fw type="catch" place="bottomRight">Bullion</fw><pb xml:id="p178v" n="178v"/>
                    
                    Bullion of the Merchants, and sending it to Dunkirk <lb xml:id="l19"/>to be coined at the next Mint for paying the Forces.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par6"><hi rend="large">B</hi>ut We are Credibly Inform'd the Forces at <lb xml:id="l20"/>Dunkirk are willing still to Accept of small Bills by <lb xml:id="l21"/>way of Antwerp, as has hitherto been practised, and <lb xml:id="l22"/>upon the old Allowance, which seems to be Cheapest <lb xml:id="l23"/>for Her Majesty, and may be Continued by the present <lb xml:id="l24"/>Signe Manual till further Reason occurs to alter it.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par7"><hi rend="large">We</hi> also offer to Your Lordship's Consideration <lb xml:id="l25"/>whether provisions may not be sent from hence in <lb xml:id="l26"/>part of their Subsistance. <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="2"/></p>
