                <p xml:id="par2"><hi rend="larger">W</hi>ee the Warden and Master Worker of his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi>.</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Mint, Having <lb xml:id="l1"/>received from your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="underline">pps</hi></hi>.</abbr><expan>Lordshipps</expan></choice> a Refference dated the 4<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>. day of August <lb xml:id="l2"/>last, Vpon the Memorial of M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>. Ionathan Ambrose hereunto Annex'd <lb xml:id="l3"/>wherein he proposes to have Three halfe pence <choice><abbr>ꝑ</abbr><expan>per</expan></choice> pound for the <lb xml:id="l4"/>First Melting down of the Plate; Wee take this Opertunity humbly to <lb xml:id="l5"/>lay before your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="underline">pps</hi></hi>.</abbr><expan>Lordshipps</expan></choice> That the Master <add place="inline" indicator="no">&amp;</add> Worker of the Mint, did <lb xml:id="l6"/>alwayes melt down all silver and gold brought thither to be <lb xml:id="l7"/>coyned, and did therein Employ such person or persons as he <lb xml:id="l8"/>thought fitt for the doeing thereof being bound by the Indenture <lb xml:id="l9"/>of the Mint to performe that service, and is answerable for all <lb xml:id="l10"/>Loss and Miscarriage that may happen in the doeing thereof, <lb xml:id="l11"/>And therefore humbly <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="1"/></p>
                
                <p rend="indent5" xml:id="par3"><hi rend="larger">Prays</hi> that he may Employ the persons that doe it as <lb xml:id="l12"/>formerly, and is willing to undertake the severall meltings of the <lb xml:id="l13"/>Clipt money at 3 farthings the pound, and on such other <choice><abbr>Condic<hi rend="overline">on</hi>s</abbr><expan>Conditions</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l14"/>as are at <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>pre</reg></choice>sent allowed for the same, and to undertake the first <lb xml:id="l15"/>melting down of the plate at one penny <choice><abbr>ꝑ</abbr><expan>per</expan></choice> pound, and the refineing <lb xml:id="l16"/>(since the Quantity is like to be great) for whats done in London at <lb xml:id="l17"/>11<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>. <choice><abbr>ꝑ</abbr><expan>per</expan></choice> pound, but for what's done and to be done in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Country <lb xml:id="l18"/>he humbly does crave the present allowance of 12<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>. <choice><abbr>ꝑ</abbr><expan>per</expan></choice> pound, he <lb xml:id="l19"/>having all along paid the same price, And as to the said Ionathan <lb xml:id="l20"/>Ambrose we humbly lay before your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">pps</hi>.</abbr><expan>Lordshipps</expan></choice> that <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Coynage Duty is <lb xml:id="l21"/>not sufficient to Defray the necessaries of the mint at this time, And <lb xml:id="l22"/>therefore submitt it to your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">pps</hi>.</abbr><expan>Lordshipps</expan></choice> Direc<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>ons how and at what rate <lb xml:id="l23"/>he shall be paid for the Plate he hath already melted and refined. <lb xml:id="l24"/><hi rend="large">And</hi> we further presume to Represent to <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="underline">pps</hi></hi>.</abbr><expan>Lordshipps</expan></choice> an Inconvenience <lb xml:id="l25"/>we Conceive has arisen by wording <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> warrant <choice><abbr>und<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>under</expan></choice> his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi>.</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> signe <lb xml:id="l26"/>Mannual for the Distribu<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>on of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> 14<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>. <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>per</reg></choice> pound Allowed by an Act of <lb xml:id="l27"/>Last Sessions for making the money, whereby it is Directed that <lb xml:id="l28"/>nine pence <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>per</reg></choice> pound (<choice><abbr>p<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>part</expan></choice> of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> 14<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>.) should be paid to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Corpora<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>on <lb xml:id="l29"/>of monyers, <hi rend="large">Whereas</hi> by the Indenture of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint 8<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>. <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>per</reg></choice> pound <lb xml:id="l30"/>and no more is directed to be paid them for their service, And the <lb xml:id="l31"/>Additionall penny was only to be paid and allowed them as a bounty

                    from his <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="overline">tie</hi></abbr><expan>Majestie</expan></choice>, So long as <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Warden, Master Worker, and <lb xml:id="l32"/>Comptroller or any Two of them whereof <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Warden to be one <lb xml:id="l33"/>should perceive the moneys well sized, blanched, and Coyned, <lb xml:id="l34"/>and a due propor<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>on of small money made, and the said Service <add place="inline" indicator="no">not <lb xml:id="l35"/>having</add> by them been well and duely performed, As an <choice><abbr>Inducem<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Inducement</expan></choice> for <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l36"/>future, and to make them well size, Blanch and Coyne, the <lb xml:id="l37"/>Silver money, and in all things for the Future, to act as they ought, <lb xml:id="l38"/>We Conceive it convenient that in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> next Warrant to be signed by <lb xml:id="l39"/>his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">tie</hi>.</abbr><expan>Majestie</expan></choice> for Coyning either <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Clipt money or Plate in Pursuance of <lb xml:id="l40"/>any Act of this Sessions, that <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> giving <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Penny to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> monyers <lb xml:id="l41"/>may be Only Condi<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>onal, As it is by <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Indenture, And that if they <lb xml:id="l42"/>doe not Deserve it, the same money to be saved to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Crowne.</p>
