                <p xml:id="par3">I have sent you more work as you will see by the enclosed <lb xml:id="l2"/>information, the method I have to propose to you to take them <lb xml:id="l3"/>is this, Thorpe writes to Cossens for some money he hath sent him <lb xml:id="l4"/>a bill for 10<hi rend="superscript">£</hi>: upon his correspondent one Coreye a <choice><sic>gooldsmith</sic><corr>goldsmith</corr></choice> <lb xml:id="l5"/>in fleet street near fleet bridge and hath told him the matter that <lb xml:id="l6"/>when Thorpe comes for the money that he secures him, &amp; whoever comes <lb xml:id="l7"/>with him, describing Bacon to be a <choice><unclear reason="hand">lower</unclear> <unclear reason="hand" source="Newton Correspondence">Coiner</unclear></choice> man with a scar in his face: <lb xml:id="l8"/>Thorpe writes to Cossens to direct his letter to be Left for him at M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> <lb xml:id="l9"/>Serjeants at the Mityr in Pye corner, <choice><sic>(</sic><corr type="noText"/></choice>And to his <choice><abbr>bro<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>:</abbr><expan>brother</expan></choice> in Law (who <lb xml:id="l10"/>also hath seen the stamps but is unwilling to appear yet) he orders <lb xml:id="l11"/>him to direct to be left at M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> <unclear reason="hand">Boswir</unclear> at <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Scotch armes in High <lb xml:id="l12"/>Holbourne; for that I think you had best see who comes for <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l13"/>Money, it may be both may come, if only Thorpe; then you must <lb xml:id="l14"/>send immediatly, &amp; search for Bacon at these two places, <lb xml:id="l15"/>for otherwise we know not where to find him: but I must beg <lb xml:id="l16"/>your pardon for p<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi></orig><reg>re</reg></choice>suming to direct you in this matter who knows <lb xml:id="l17"/>soe much better then I can direct. <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> Deputy hath been <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>:</abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> me; <lb xml:id="l18"/>I hope the <choice><abbr>L<hi rend="superscript">ds</hi></abbr><expan>Lords</expan></choice> of the <choice><abbr>Treasy</abbr><expan>Treasury</expan></choice> will grant my request about these two Little <lb xml:id="l19"/>houses. for I am sure I have earned them <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <unclear reason="hand">most</unclear> stayes I am</p>
