The case between yethe K.King & SrSir Wm Ashurt & SrSir Rich Levet latesheriffs of LondLondon has bein depending about 4 years. Whereof about three years it was managd by Aaron Smith. but yethe WardWarden of the Mint complaining to yethe LdsLords of yethe TrTreasury of his negligence they ordered Mr Macy to take it in hand & it is still put off by yethe Court of Exh.Exchequer till MichMichaelmas term next, vizt for yethe paymtpayment of 170℔. 3s. 0d in money: tThey were likewise charchged for 88514 ounces of Clippings but by Mr Aar. Smiths neglect in not putting a value upon them the Court did not think fit yethe process should go forward for them but begin anew by way of scire facias for the same. There are other parcels of clipping & clipt money wchwhich yethe said Gentlemen SrSir W. A & SrSir R. L were chargeable wthwith in their year wchwhich Mr IJohn Hardesty Claerk of the Peace for Middlesex can give an account of as well as yethe several Sheriffs before & since SrSir W. Ashurst & RSrSir R. L (vizt for at least 7 years.

The case of yethe Bayliff of Westminster was that he did make seizures of several things relating to clippers & coyners, particularly clippings, clipt & counterfeit money, Guineas, houshold & oth Goods & other personal estate to yethe to yethe value of 560 or above belonging to one Middleton convicted & executed about two years ago for clipping. Vide yethe English Bill preferred against him now in Mr Tussinghams hander but not yet signed by Mr Attorney. Mr Tussingham is a clerk of yethe Excheqruer & lives neare leather Lane in Holbourn. Memoranduum yethe Aaron Smith soon after yethe execution of Middleton told G. Macy that he had an acquaintance wchwhich could discover yethea personal estate of the said Middletons not yet found out, to yethe value of about 5 of 600℔, but demanded wtwhat share he or his friends should have of the same when so done. There is also a Bill agt (not yet signed by Mr Attorney) in yethe hands of yethe sdsaid MrMaster Tussinghaam agtagainst my Lady Russel & Owen her steward for 3 or 400 Guineas, clippings, plate, melted Silver & house & houshold Good in all esteemed worth 1200℔, belonging to one Newell in Holbourn convicted executed about 2 years since. At his tryall several Ingots of melted Silver were produced agtagainst him at yethe old Bayly wtchwhich then Sheriffs seized seized. The Lady Russel clainsms under her Ancestors as LdsLords of the Mannor. Mr Macy hath given all his Papers relating to these things to Mr Hardesty for instructions to drayw these things by. The Bayliff of yethe Burrough of Southwark charged wthwith 100 ounces of clippings taken upon a person acquitted at Kingston Assizes a year & an half ago. He claims under the City of London.
