<p rend="indent0" xml:id="par2">Whereas by Ancient Charters <del type="over"><unclear reason="over" cert="low">o</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">f</add>rom the Crown &amp; confirmed by his present <choice><abbr>Matie</abbr><expan>Majestie</expan></choice> as by several his Progenitors &amp; Prede<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l2"/>cessors Kings &amp; Queens of England It hath been <del type="over"><gap reason="over" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>nd is granted unto the Wardens of the Exchanges Monyers Workmen <lb xml:id="l3"/>&amp; other Ministers of his <choice><abbr>Maties</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Mint deputed unto those things <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> concern the said Office That they &amp; every of <lb xml:id="l4"/>them are &amp; shall be freed &amp; discharged from being put into any Assizes, Iuries, Inquests or Attaints although the <lb xml:id="l5"/>same should touch his <choice><abbr>Maties</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> or his Heires &amp; that none of them against his will should be Mayor Sherriff Bayliffe <lb xml:id="l6"/>Escheator Constable Collector Inquisitor or Assessor of Tenths Fifteents Subsidies Talliages Aides or other Impositions <lb xml:id="l7"/>nor beare any other Office nor service whatsoever. And that they &amp; every of them should be quit &amp; discharged <lb xml:id="l8"/>forever in the City of London &amp; all other Cities Towns &amp; places where they do inhabit &amp; where their estates <lb xml:id="l9"/>do lye of all Assessments Taxations Talliages Aids Loanes Contributions Fifteent<del type="over"><gap reason="over" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">h</add>s Tenths Subsidies &amp; other Impo<lb xml:id="l10"/>sitions whatsoever &amp; every part thereof to the Kings <del type="cancelled"><unclear reason="del" cert="medium">use</unclear></del> <choice><abbr>Mat<del type="over">y</del><add place="over" indicator="no">i</add>e</abbr><expan>Majestie</expan></choice> his Heires &amp; Successors by the Commonalty of the <lb xml:id="l11"/>Realme of England &amp; otherwise granted &amp; to be granted And likewise from all Imprests Suits Actions Arrests Attaints <lb xml:id="l12"/>&amp;c And that all Pleas and complaints (pleas of Freehold &amp; of the Crown only excepted) should be adjudged before <lb xml:id="l13"/>the Warden of his <choice><abbr>Maties</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Mint And that they or any of them should not be molested distreined or otherwise <lb xml:id="l14"/>grieved in their Lands Tenements Rents Goods or Chattels but should have their due allowance a<del type="over"><gap reason="over" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">nd</add> discharge <lb xml:id="l15"/>thereof before the Treasurer &amp; Barons of the Exchequer. And whereas in the Terme of S<hi rend="superscript">t</hi> Michael in the two &amp; <lb xml:id="l16"/><choice><sic>thirtith</sic><corr>thirtieth</corr></choice> year of the Raign of King Charles the second upon an hearing before the Barons of the Exchequer It was <lb xml:id="l17"/>in pursuance to the said Charters ordered that the Collectors of Taxes granted by Parliament or otherwise do upon <lb xml:id="l18"/>certificate under the hand &amp; seale of the Warden of his <choice><abbr>Maties</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Mint forbeare to make any distress upon their estates <lb xml:id="l19"/>goods or chattels or upon their Tenements in any City Town or place where the same do lye but shall return them <lb xml:id="l20"/>with the summs assessed u<del type="over"><gap reason="over" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">p</add>on them insuper <del type="cancelled">with</del> upon the accounts of the said Collectors Now I Isaac Newton Es <lb xml:id="l21"/>Warden of his <choice><abbr>Maties</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Mint within the Tower of London do hereby certify that Christopher Priddeth of the <lb xml:id="l22"/>Parish of S<hi rend="superscript">t</hi> Leonards Shoreditch is one of my Clerks belonging to his <choice><abbr>Maties</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>sd</abbr><expan>said</expan></choice> Mint, and that he ought to <lb xml:id="l23"/>enjoy the Privileges &amp; Immunities before mentioned &amp; all other Privileges that may of right <del type="cancelled">belong</del> appertein <lb xml:id="l24"/>unt<unclear reason="hand"><del type="over"><gap reason="over" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add></unclear> him by vertue of the said Charters that he may be free to give his constant attendance unto the service <lb xml:id="l25"/>of his <choice><abbr>Maties</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> said Mint.
