    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par2"><hi rend="large">Whereas</hi> wee have by severall Expresse orders and <lb xml:id="l1"/><choice><abbr>warr<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></abbr><expan>warrants</expan></choice> unto the officers of our Mint and the <choice><abbr>L<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Lieutenant</expan></choice> of our <lb xml:id="l2"/>Tower of London commanded and appointed Our said <lb xml:id="l3"/>Mint to be cleared from all Inhabitants not haveing <lb xml:id="l4"/>realing unto the same, whether Tennants unto <lb xml:id="l5"/>any of our said Officers or not for the better Secur<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="3"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">ity</add> <lb xml:id="l6"/>of our said Mint, and for the accomodating of such other <lb xml:id="l7"/>officers and workmen as here after shall be employed <lb xml:id="l8"/>in the making of Tooles and Engines, and in Coyning <lb xml:id="l9"/>Our Monies by the Mills and Presse, And where as the <lb xml:id="l10"/>warden of our said Mint in pursuance of our Orders <lb xml:id="l11"/>and Commands, and upon the Removall of our Captain <lb xml:id="l12"/>Fleetwood late Tennant unto <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Wallis weigher of <lb xml:id="l13"/>Our said Mint have with Advice and Constent of the <lb xml:id="l14"/>rest of the Officers there, On Our behalfe made an <lb xml:id="l15"/>Agreement with, and taken a Lease from the said <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn <lb xml:id="l16"/>Wallis bearing date the six and twentieth day of <lb xml:id="l17"/>Iuly last past of all his Interest and Terme of yeares <lb xml:id="l18"/>in our house and Garden with the appurtenances <lb xml:id="l19"/>scituate and being in or neare a place known by the <lb xml:id="l20"/>Name of the Irish Mint in our said Tower of London <lb xml:id="l21"/>belonging unto the said <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Wallis as weigher unto our <lb xml:id="l22"/>Mint, and now in the possession of Peter Blondeau <lb xml:id="l23"/>Engineer unto our said Mint For and in considera<choice><orig>c<hi rend="overline">on</hi></orig><reg>tion</reg></choice> <lb xml:id="l24"/>of the yearly rent of sixteen pounds therein and thereby <lb xml:id="l25"/>reserved and payable unto the said <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Wallis and his <lb xml:id="l26"/>Assignes during his naturall life out of the profits <lb xml:id="l27"/>of our Mint by you and your successors Wardens for <lb xml:id="l28"/>the time being, And whereas you have with the <lb xml:id="l29"/>Advice and Consent aforesaid On Our behalfe like<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l30"/>wise agreed with and taken one other Lease from <lb xml:id="l31"/>Thomas and <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Woodward <choice><sic>Essay</sic><corr>Assay</corr></choice> Masters bearing <lb xml:id="l32"/>date the twenty third May last past of all their <lb xml:id="l33"/>Interest and Term of years of and <del type="cancelled">are</del> in one house <lb xml:id="l34"/>with the appurtenances in Our said Mint belonging <lb xml:id="l35"/>to them as Assay masters as it now lyeth divided <lb xml:id="l36"/>and of one piece of Ground or Garden plott upon

        which wee have lately caused to be erected two horse <lb xml:id="l37"/>Mills with other Buildings for our service in Coyning <lb xml:id="l38"/>our Monies after a new Invented way the said house <lb xml:id="l39"/>being in the possession of one <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Roettiers One of Our <lb xml:id="l40"/>Chiefe Gravers for and in consideration of the yearly <lb xml:id="l41"/>Rent of sixteen pounds therein and thereby reserved <lb xml:id="l42"/>and payable unto the said Thomas and <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Woodward <lb xml:id="l43"/>and their Assignes dureing their Naturall Lifes and <lb xml:id="l44"/>the life of the longest liver of them out of the profits <lb xml:id="l45"/>of our Mint by you and your successors Wardens <lb xml:id="l46"/>for the time being, As by the said severall and <lb xml:id="l47"/>respective Leases will appeare, Now For as much as <lb xml:id="l48"/>None of the officers of our said Mint may receive an<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">y</add> <lb xml:id="l49"/>prejudice by soe readily complying with our Co<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">m</hi></orig><reg>mm</reg></choice>ands <lb xml:id="l50"/>and service as aforesaid or loose the rest or benifit <lb xml:id="l51"/>of the respective houses <hi rend="large">Wee</hi> have thought fitt <lb xml:id="l52"/>and doe hereby appoint and Authorize the Wardens <lb xml:id="l53"/>of our Mint for the time being well and duely to pay <lb xml:id="l54"/>unto the said <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Walles and Thomas and <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn <lb xml:id="l55"/>Woodward out of the Profitts of our Mint as they <lb xml:id="l56"/>shall arise the said severall and respective Rents <lb xml:id="l57"/>by Quarterly pay<choice><orig>m<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></orig><reg>ments</reg></choice> after the usuall Course of the <lb xml:id="l58"/>Mint and according to the true intent and meaning <lb xml:id="l59"/>of the aforementioned Leases, And wee doe hereby <lb xml:id="l60"/>likewise Command and Authorize the officers of our <lb xml:id="l61"/>Exchequer and the Auditor of our Mint for the time <lb xml:id="l62"/>being to make due Allowance and defalcation unto <lb xml:id="l63"/>you and your successors upon you and <del type="cancelled">your</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">their</add> Accounts of <lb xml:id="l64"/>the said Rents accordingly, And our further Will <lb xml:id="l65"/>and pleasure is, And wee doe hereby Require and <lb xml:id="l66"/>Authorize you the warden of our Mint for the <lb xml:id="l67"/>time being to make one Lease or Assignement of the <lb xml:id="l68"/>said house with the Garden and appurtenances lately <lb xml:id="l69"/>belonging to the said <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Wallis unto our Good <lb xml:id="l70"/>subject and Peter Blondeau Engineer unto <del type="cancelled">the</del> <lb xml:id="l71"/>our said Mint, To hold the same unto him and his <lb xml:id="l72"/>Assignes for and dureing the terme of twenty and <lb xml:id="l73"/>one yeares from the First day of November last <lb xml:id="l74"/>past without paying any Rent for the same unto

        us, our heires and successors or unto any other person <lb xml:id="l75"/>or persons whatsoever, the said Peter Blondeau his <lb xml:id="l76"/>Executors and Assignes well and truely performing <lb xml:id="l77"/>what on his or their parts respectively ought to be <lb xml:id="l78"/>performed Concerning his Covenants and undertakings <lb xml:id="l79"/>mentioned in our Letters Patents and Agreements under <lb xml:id="l80"/>our Greate Seale to and with the said Peter <lb xml:id="l81"/>Blondeau about the Coyning of our Gold and Silver <lb xml:id="l82"/>Monies by the Mill and Presse after his new <lb xml:id="l83"/>Invented way bearing date the first day of <lb xml:id="l84"/>November last past, And this shall be your <choice><abbr>warr<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>warrant</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l85"/>for soe doeing, Given at our Court at whitehall <lb xml:id="l86"/>this present one and <del type="cancelled">twenty</del> thirtieth day of <lb xml:id="l87"/>December, 1662: in the 14<choice><orig/><reg><hi rend="superscript"><supplied reason="omitted">th</supplied></hi></reg></choice> year of our Reigne</p>
