                <p xml:id="par3">In obedience to <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> Order of Reference of May <lb xml:id="l2"/>11<hi rend="superscript">th</hi> instant upon the Petition of <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Walker, I humbly represent <lb xml:id="l3"/>that <hi rend="superscript">M</hi>r Iustus Brandshagen received 60<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> before his going down <lb xml:id="l4"/>into Scotland to survey <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Ereskin's mine &amp; was further paid <lb xml:id="l5"/>129<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">for 129 days</add> after the rate of 20<hi rend="superscript">s</hi> per diem during his stay in Scotland upon <lb xml:id="l6"/>this service<add place="supralinear" indicator="yes"><del type="strikethrough">so near 129 days</del></add>, &amp; 25<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> in discharge of <del type="strikethrough">some other</del> bills <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">f</add>or clearing <lb xml:id="l7"/>the Mine of rubbi<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">s</add>h<choice><sic>.</sic><corr>,</corr></choice> fitting up a place for making the assays &amp; some <lb xml:id="l8"/>other charges there. And that upon my paying to him the last part <lb xml:id="l9"/>of this money he gave me a receipt in full of all accounts. <lb xml:id="l10"/>This was Aug. 16 1717. But when he gave in his account <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">to <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lordps</abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice></add> which was <lb xml:id="l11"/>May 17<hi rend="superscript">th</hi> 1717, he recconed 20<hi rend="superscript">sh</hi> per diem due to him till Aprill <lb xml:id="l12"/>29<hi rend="superscript">th</hi> preceding, on <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> day he delivered the Report concerning <lb xml:id="l13"/>the Mine to <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<del type="over">s</del><add place="over" indicator="no"><hi rend="superscript">p</hi><hi rend="superscript">s</hi></add></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice>, <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> was for 71<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">days</hi></orig><reg> days</reg></choice> longer then it <lb xml:id="l14"/>wa<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">s</add> allowed to him. For by the Princes Warrant it was due <lb xml:id="l15"/>to him only till Febr. 18<hi rend="superscript">th</hi> preceding, that being the day on <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l16"/>he <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">&amp; <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ames Hamilton</add> left Edinburgh <del type="strikethrough"><choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ames Hamilton in their journey</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes"><add place="lineBeginning" indicator="no">to</add> <unclear reason="del" cert="low">gone</unclear> return</add> to London <lb xml:id="l17"/>And as for the charge of <del type="strikethrough">their</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="yes"><del type="cancelled">his</del> <add place="lineBeginning" indicator="no">their</add></add> journeys <del type="strikethrough">backward</del> forwar<del type="over">s</del><add place="over" indicator="no">d</add>s &amp; <lb xml:id="l18"/>backwards, that was included in the allowance <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> hath already <lb xml:id="l19"/>been made to them as is expresed in <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> Warrant to <lb xml:id="l20"/>the Earl of Halifax dated 24 Iuly, 1717 for ussing money to <lb xml:id="l21"/>discharge their Account<add place="inline" indicator="no">.</add><del type="cancelled">:</del> <del type="over">t</del><add place="over" indicator="no">T</add>he sixty pounds imprest to <del type="strikethrough">him in the <lb xml:id="l22"/>beginning</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">Brandshagen &amp; the thirty to Hamilton <lb xml:id="l23"/>before they went down to Scotland</add>, includ<del type="over">in</del><add place="over" indicator="no">ed</add><del type="cancelled">g</del> this charge, as may be understood <del type="strikethrough">also</del> by <lb xml:id="l24"/><choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> Warrant to the Earl of Halifax dated 5<hi rend="superscript">th</hi> Septem. <lb xml:id="l25"/>1716.</p>
