In obedience to yoryour LordpsLordships Order of Reference of May 11th instant upon the Petition of IJohn Walker, I humbly represent that Mr Iustus Brandshagen received 60li before his going down into Scotland to survey SrSir IJohn Ereskin's mine & was further paid 129li for 129 days after the rate of 20s per diem during his stay in Scotland upon this serviceso near 129 days, & 25li in discharge of some other bills for clearing the Mine of rubbish., fitting up a place for making the assays & some other charges there. And that upon my paying to him the last part of this money he gave me a receipt in full of all accounts. This was Aug. 16 1717. But when he gave in his account to yoryour LordpsLordships which was May 17th 1717, he recconed 20sh per diem due to him till Aprill 29th preceding, on wchwhich day he delivered the Report concerning the Mine to yoryour LordspsLordships, wchwhich was for 71days days longer then it was allowed to him. For by the Princes Warrant it was due to him only till Febr. 18th preceding, that being the day on wchwhich he & IJames Hamilton left Edinburgh wthwith IJames Hamilton in their journey to gone return to London And as for the charge of theirhis their journeys backward forwarsds & backwards, that was included in the allowance wchwhich hath already been made to them as is expresed in yoryour LordpsLordships Warrant to the Earl of Halifax dated 24 Iuly, 1717 for ussing money to discharge their Account.: tThe sixty pounds imprest to him in the beginning Brandshagen & the thirty to Hamilton before they went down to Scotland, includinedg this charge, as may be understood also by yoryour LordpsLordships Warrant to the Earl of Halifax dated 5th Septem. 1716.

So thenHence tThe 271li set down by Mr Brandshagen in the first of the three Articles annexed this P to Mr Walkers Petition, & the 35li 10s set down in the second Article, were as due to him were therefore not due to him,. tThe 6li. 18s. in the third Articles should be 6li 8s. & this summ hath been already pair to him. And I know nothing more due to him from the Crown. Nor have I yet seen his Note to Mr Walker for the ten pounds ten shillings borrowed of him
