    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par2"><add place="lineBeginning" indicator="no">1</add> Whether Advancing the Price of Tinne will not hinder <lb xml:id="l11"/>Consumption.</p>
    
    <p xml:id="par3"><add place="lineBeginning" indicator="no">2</add> Whether it will not <choice><sic>Incoridge</sic><corr>Encourage</corr></choice> the Dutch to bring more <lb xml:id="l12"/>Tinnne from the east Indies than they have formerly. <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="1"/></p>
    
    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par4">To which it is most humbly answered.</p>
    
    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par5"><add place="lineBeginning" indicator="no">1</add> That advancing the price of tinne will not hinder <lb xml:id="l13"/>Consumption.</p>
    
    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par6">Makeing Tinne into Pewter is noe Consumption <lb xml:id="l14"/>because it can be Melted agayn &amp; converted to any other <lb xml:id="l15"/>use.</p>
    
    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par7">Consumption of Tinne is destroying the Nature of Tinne <lb xml:id="l16"/>or reduceing into that degree that it can never be melted <lb xml:id="l17"/>agayne for any other use. And this is <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>per</reg></choice>formed by those <lb xml:id="l18"/>that Glaze Earthen ware in Holland France Portugall and <lb xml:id="l19"/>many other places also by makeing of Putty for Glazing &amp; <lb xml:id="l20"/>Pollishing of Marbles for Glasiers, Iapanners, and many <lb xml:id="l21"/>other trades, Consumption of tinne is made by Dyeing of <unclear reason="hand" cert="medium">Scarles</unclear> <lb xml:id="l22"/>and by Ti<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">n</hi></orig><reg>nn</reg></choice><del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">in</add>g of Iron plates, which is called Lattin, <choice><abbr><hi rend="overline">ab<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></hi></abbr><expan>about</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi>:</abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l23"/>the tyn mens whole trade is, &amp; these are made in Germany <lb xml:id="l24"/>&amp; Hungary, &amp; by this a very great quantity is Consumed, &amp; for these <lb xml:id="l25"/>uses it must be had as much as Now if Neaver so deare.</p>
    
    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par8">Consumption is also made by whitening of Iron, as Coffin <lb xml:id="l26"/>plates, hookes &amp; eyes, <unclear reason="hand" cert="low">Iemmyes</unclear>, bridle bitts, sterops &amp; a <lb xml:id="l27"/>Multitude of other Iron ware, also by Tinning of Copper <lb xml:id="l28"/>Potts, <unclear reason="hand" cert="low">stir</unclear> panns, Sauce panns, Frying Panns, and a great many <lb xml:id="l29"/>other sortes of Copper Ware, as Furnaces, Stills, Coffee Potts &amp;c</p>

    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par9">Also by makeing of buttons, buckles &amp; other sortes of smale <lb xml:id="l30"/>ware &amp; toyes wherby the Tinne is for the most part destroyed <lb xml:id="l31"/>and in makeing of Bell mettle for Cock<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add>s waights &amp; many other <lb xml:id="l32"/>uses &amp; by tinning of Lookeing Glasses &amp; by often Melting there <lb xml:id="l33"/>cannot be so little as 200 Tun a yeare destroyed there are also <lb xml:id="l34"/>many other wayes by which Tinne is destroyed. For which <lb xml:id="l35"/>it must &amp; will <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">be</add> as Much used as now amp; there will be as Much <lb xml:id="l36"/>Tinne Consumed as Now if it be Advanced to <choice><sic>doble</sic><corr>double</corr></choice> the price <lb xml:id="l37"/>that it now is. And this the Trades men that deale in the said <lb xml:id="l38"/>co<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">m</hi></orig><reg>mm</reg></choice>odityes will Attest if thereunto required. And hereby I <lb xml:id="l39"/>hope that great question is fully answered that advancing the <lb xml:id="l40"/>price of tinn will not hinder consumption. <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="1"/></p>
    
    <p xml:id="par10"><add place="lineBeginning" indicator="no">2.</add> Advancing the price of tinne cannot <choice><sic>Incoridge</sic><corr>Encourage</corr></choice> the Dutch <lb xml:id="l41"/>to bring more than they <choice><sic>use</sic><corr>used</corr></choice> to doe. Because the Dutch <lb xml:id="l42"/>have noe Mines and what Tinne they bring they doe buy att <lb xml:id="l43"/>Malacha and they call it Malacha Tinne but it comes from <lb xml:id="l44"/>Syam where the Dutch have now Factorie and we may <lb xml:id="l45"/>advise the people of the rise here how Much it is advanced <lb xml:id="l46"/>and they will advance it accordingly and it will be all one <lb xml:id="l47"/>as now. A<del type="over">d</del><add place="over" indicator="no">n</add>d any devise that wee can suppose that the Dutch <lb xml:id="l48"/>may have to undermine us on this account we knowing our <lb xml:id="l49"/>own Intentions have power to breake all their Measures <lb xml:id="l50"/>and to circumvent all their designes and this will be <lb xml:id="l51"/>explained if the proposalls shall be thought fitt to be put in <lb xml:id="l52"/>practice. There are also other necessary precations which <lb xml:id="l53"/>ought not to be made Publick.</p>
    
    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par11">I know nothing that i have set down but may be proved sufficiently <lb xml:id="l54"/>I never he<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>rd that there ever was a cessasion of Digging for <lb xml:id="l55"/>Tinne for thousands of years back and it is evident that there <lb xml:id="l56"/>is but one year &amp; halfes Tinne before hand but that all is <lb xml:id="l57"/>consumed except a very smale quantity of Pewter in <lb xml:id="l58"/>comparison of what Tinne hath <choice><sic>ben</sic><corr>been</corr></choice> dugge out of the Earth <lb xml:id="l59"/>And this year &amp; halfes Tinne is nere all in her <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi>:</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> hands <lb xml:id="l60"/>Att home and abroade. The Trades men have little or noe <lb xml:id="l61"/>stock, and this is occasioned by Misse <choice><abbr>Manadgm<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>:</abbr><expan>Manadgment</expan></choice> for if it <lb xml:id="l62"/>were 5<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">l</hi></hi>: the Tun dearer out of the Warehouse than on the <lb xml:id="l63"/>Wharfe att Landing, there had <choice><sic>ben</sic><corr>been</corr></choice> noe need of sending our <lb xml:id="l64"/>Tinne abroad to a Markett.</p>

    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par12">I wish <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">t</add>hose who finde fault with my Proposalls, would find <lb xml:id="l65"/>a better and speedier way to putt £234000<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">l</hi></hi>: into her <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi>:</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l66"/>Treasury in so short a time. Iff any thing be Adjudged an <lb xml:id="l67"/>Inconveniency, lett the Straights, difficultyes, Inconveniencys, <lb xml:id="l68"/>Incumbrances, and dissgraces of <space dim="horizontal" unit="chars" extent="28"/> <lb xml:id="l69"/>be putt in the scale against it, here will be £36400<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">l</hi></hi>: gayned <lb xml:id="l70"/>this way without trouble, and tho it be to be <lb xml:id="l71"/>Monthly yet it may be all brought into the<del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del> Exche<choice><orig>q<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></orig><reg>quer</reg></choice> in 20 <lb xml:id="l72"/>dayes I meane what is att home, And what is abroad there must <lb xml:id="l73"/>be different Measures for.</p>
    
    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par13">Iff perhaps there be a word or a period not so exactly proved <lb xml:id="l74"/>doubtfull, or Daingerous, let the other side be considered <lb xml:id="l75"/>against it &amp; see which will carry it</p>
