<p rend="indent0" xml:id="par3">Since I attended <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> last, I caused a new Furnace to be <lb xml:id="l2"/>built in order to a further trial of what may be done by casting <lb xml:id="l3"/>of copper into Barrs &amp; coyning copper money out of those barrs. But <lb xml:id="l4"/>in the mean time upon assaying the half pence of <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> I shewed <lb xml:id="l5"/><choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> a specimen, I found the copper coarser then it was by <lb xml:id="l6"/>the assay before casting. Whereupon I ordered M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Bagley the <lb xml:id="l7"/>founder to supply me <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> such barrs as would fully endure the <lb xml:id="l8"/>assay: but he has not yet produced any tho it be about three <lb xml:id="l9"/>weeks since I gave him the order. Whence I suspect that in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l10"/>specimen of half pence <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> I shewed <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> he put in some <lb xml:id="l11"/>Tynn <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice>out my knowledge tho I stood by to see him cast the <lb xml:id="l12"/>copper &amp; he pretends another cause.</p>
    
<p xml:id="par4">Whether the Fillets be made by hammering or casting <lb xml:id="l13"/>it will be requisite to repair the Mill-rooms &amp; other rooms <lb xml:id="l14"/>in the Irish Mint for cutting flatting scouring &amp; nealing the <lb xml:id="l15"/>money, &amp; the repairs by the workmen's estimate will come to <lb xml:id="l16"/>about 145<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi>. If your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> please to let me have a Warrant <lb xml:id="l17"/>for repairing them, It may be done in six weeks time</p>
    
<p xml:id="par5">We do not receive gold &amp; silver into the mint to be coyned <lb xml:id="l18"/>untill they be made fit to be received. If your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> shall think <lb xml:id="l19"/>fit that the copper be made into fillets by hammering, &amp; <lb xml:id="l20"/>received into the Mint by weight &amp; assay &amp; the money delivered <lb xml:id="l21"/>back by weight &amp; assay the coynage being paid for by the Im<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l22"/>porter: a coynage may be set on foot in this manner so soon <lb xml:id="l23"/>as the charge of coynage, the number of pieces in a pound <lb xml:id="l24"/>weight &amp; the Reverse of the money shall be setled. And the <lb xml:id="l25"/>money made by this method will be of the same fineness <lb xml:id="l26"/><choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> that of Sweden.</p>
