                <p xml:id="par2">These year<del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="high">e</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">s</add> are from Christmas to Christm<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>s. <add place="inline" indicator="no"><hi rend="large">/</hi></add><del type="strikethrough">And</del> <del type="over">t</del><add place="over" indicator="no">T</add>he silver coyned 
                    <lb xml:id="l1"/>in the years 1696, 1697 &amp; 1698 was out of the English h<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>m<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="3"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">mer</add>ed 
                    <lb xml:id="l2"/>moneys  &amp; <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">wrought</add> Plate. That coyned in the years 1699 &amp; 1700 was chiefly 
                    <lb xml:id="l3"/>out of hammered moneys <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> came slowly from the country after 
                    <lb xml:id="l4"/>the heat of the recoynage was at an end. That coyned in the year 
                    <lb xml:id="l5"/>1701 was (I think) chiefly out of forreign moneys &amp; bullion brought 
                    <lb xml:id="l6"/>in by the Pe<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>ce <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">&amp; <add place="inline" indicator="no">by</add> the remains of the Spanish Trade<choice><sic>.</sic><corr type="noText"/></choice></add>. 
                    <del type="blockStrikethrough"><add place="inline" indicator="no">[</add>And the Gold coyned in 1701 &amp; part of 1702 was 
                        <lb xml:id="l7"/>out of Lewidor<del type="cancelled">'</del>s which by our valuing them at 17<hi rend="superscript">s</hi> 6<hi rend="superscript">d</hi> a piece 
                        <lb xml:id="l8"/>came into England in great plenty in the preceding years untill 
                        <lb xml:id="l9"/>by King William's Proclamation they were lowered to 17<hi rend="superscript">s</hi> a piece, 
                        <lb xml:id="l10"/>after which they came to the Mint.<add place="inline" indicator="no">]</add></del>
                    And most of th<del type="over">e</del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add><add place="inline" indicator="no">t</add> <del type="strikethrough">silver</del> coyned 
                    <lb xml:id="l11"/>in 1704. And th<del type="over">e</del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add><add place="inline" indicator="no">t</add> <del type="strikethrough">silver</del> coyned in the ten following years has <del type="strikethrough">almost all <lb xml:id="l12"/>of it</del> <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">b</add>een from English lead &amp; <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">some<del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del>times from</add> wr<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>ught plate imported upon premiums 
                    <lb xml:id="l13"/>granted by Act of <choice><abbr>Parliam<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Parliament</expan></choice>.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par3">The Gold coyned in 1701 &amp; part of 1702 was out of Lewidors <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> by 
                    <lb xml:id="l14"/>our valuing them at 17. 6 a piec<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add> came into England in great plenty

                    <lb xml:id="l18"/>of it from Iamaica. And a great part of th<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>t <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> has been coyned <add place="supralinear" indicator="no">in</add> the 
                    <lb xml:id="l19"/>two <del type="strikethrough">last</del> years <del type="strikethrough">ca<gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del> ending at Christmas last, came from French monies <del type="strikethrough">melted <lb xml:id="l20"/>down,</del> <del type="cancelled">&amp; <gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="3"/></del> imported in specie &amp; melted down in Ingots by the Goldsmiths.</p>
