The humble peticontion of the Officer of the 5. late Country Mints one behalfe of themselves & some others &ct.

Sheweth

That whereas yoryour LdpsLordships were pleased to appoint & establish sallary's for persons belonging unto yethe sd.said Mints in yethe Year 1696. And accordingly yoryour Petrs.Petitioners haveing duely attended that service in their respective staconstions untill next MichasMichaelmas last 98. and have since been employed untill this time in Exammg:Examining their severall Mints accts.accounts (wchwhich is still a continued charge unto yor.youryour Petrs.Petitioners) and that their Charges were great in goeing up and down to their respective places, and continuance there above 2. years without any other recompence or allowance than their base sallary's only (wchwhichwhich were but small) and their charge and business farr greater than was supposed or expected: And that they have been pd.paid their sd.said sallary's no farther than Midsr.Midsummer last, And that yethe sd.said Countrey Mints Accots.Accounts are as yet not passed nor Audited, And ytthat yoryour Petrs.Petitioners bonds given unto his Maty.Majesty for yethe faithfull discharge of their respective trusts lyeing out agt.against them untill yethe sd.said Accots.Accounts be compleatly finished.

Wherefore yor:your Petrs.Petitioners most humbly prayes yoryour Ld.psLordships would please to take their case into consideracontion by ordering the paymt.payment of their MichmasMichaelmas sallary with such further allowances for their jorneys forwards and Backwards, and other extraordinary Expences &ct. as your Ld.psLordships shall think fit. And also that yoryour Accots.Accounts may be speedily Audited, Whereupon yoryour Petrs.Petitioners may have up their securities, so as they may be the better enabled to pay their debts contracted in the sd.said service, and return unto their severall abodes.
