                <p xml:id="par2">In obedience to your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> Order of Reference upon the <lb xml:id="l1"/><del type="strikethrough">petition</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">Memorial</add> of the General of the Mint <del type="strikethrough">of</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">in</add> Scotland for <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">impresting upon <choice><abbr>acc<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>account</expan></choice></add> 2400<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> <lb xml:id="l2"/>to his <choice><abbr>Lords<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> out of the Coinage Duty as due for the service <lb xml:id="l3"/>of the said Mint for the two years ending at Christmas last <lb xml:id="l4"/>together with such further summ as your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> shall judge <lb xml:id="l5"/>necessary for bearing the charge of coinage, I humbly repre<lb xml:id="l6"/>sent, <choice><orig><lb type="intentional" xml:id="l7"/><space dim="horizontal" unit="chars" extent="4"/><del type="strikethrough">That</del></orig><reg/></choice> <add place="supralinear interlinear" indicator="yes">That be the <del type="strikethrough">Act of</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes"><del type="strikethrough">Coinage Act before the</del> <add place="lineBeginning" indicator="no">Act of</add></add> Vnion <del type="strikethrough">the Moneys no alteratio</del> there was to be a Mint in <lb xml:id="l8"/>Scotland conformable to the Mint in England, &amp;</add> by the <del type="strikethrough">Coinage</del> Act <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">w</add><choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></orig><reg>hich</reg></choice> passed in the first year of <lb xml:id="l9"/>his <choice><orig>M<hi rend="superscript">ty</hi></orig><reg>Majesty</reg></choice> for continuing the <del type="strikethrough">Acts</del> former Acts for encouragement <lb xml:id="l10"/>of coinage, your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> are impoured, out of the moneys arising <lb xml:id="l11"/><add place="supralinear lineBeginning" indicator="yes">in Great Brittain</add> by the said Act to cause so much money to be <del type="strikethrough">applied</del> issued out <lb xml:id="l12"/>of the <del type="strikethrough">Mint</del> Exchequer to the Master of the Mint in England <lb xml:id="l13"/>&amp; to the General of the Mint in Scotland respectively by way <lb xml:id="l14"/>of imprest &amp; upon account <del type="strikethrough">for that service</del> as shall be necessary <lb xml:id="l15"/>for defraying the expences of the said Mints. <add place="infralinear" indicator="no">And accordingly 1200</add> <choice><orig><lb type="intentional" xml:id="l16"/><space dim="horizontal" unit="chars" extent="4"/><del type="strikethrough">That upon this Act</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no"><del type="strikethrough">since the nations of this Act</del></add></orig><reg/></choice> the summ of 1200<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> has been already issued <lb xml:id="l17"/>to <del type="strikethrough">that Mint</del> the General of that Mint <del type="strikethrough"><del type="cancelled">&amp;</del> an Account of <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> should <lb xml:id="l18"/>be certified tp your Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></del> not as an Annuity due to the Mint <lb xml:id="l19"/>but upon <del type="over">a</del><add place="over" indicator="no">A</add>ccount, &amp; <choice><sic>thefore</sic><corr>therefore</corr></choice> an <del type="over">a</del><add place="over" indicator="no">A</add>ccount thereof should be certified to <lb xml:id="l20"/>your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> in order to know what moneys are to be further <lb xml:id="l21"/>imprest to his <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice>.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par3">That the <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">standing</add> salaries of the Officers <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">of that Mint</add> amount unto 930<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice></add> <del type="blockStrikethrough"><add place="inline" indicator="no">[</add><del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">be</add><lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l22"/>sides 50<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice> allowed unto the Clerk of the Bullion untill <lb xml:id="l23"/><del type="strikethrough">the place</del> h<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">is</add> place becomes void, he being a superfluous Officer.] <lb xml:id="l24"/>And if about 40 or 50<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> more be allowed yearly for repairing <lb xml:id="l25"/>the Offices &amp; keeping the dwelling houses wind &amp; water title., the <lb xml:id="l26"/>whole will be less then 1040<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> &amp; the]</del> &amp; therefore if 1000<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> <lb xml:id="l27"/>per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice> <del type="cancelled">d</del> towards <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">th</add>e charges of <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">coinage &amp; of</add> <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">k</add>ee<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">p</add>ing the Offices in repair &amp; the <lb xml:id="l28"/>dwelling houses wind &amp; water tite, &amp; the ballance of the Account may <lb xml:id="l29"/>be <del type="strikethrough">paid <choice><orig>off</orig><reg>of</reg></choice> after</del> certified into the Treasury annually <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">in order</add> to be paid off. <lb xml:id="l30"/>There <add place="supralinear" indicator="no"><del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="4"/></del></add> is <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">also</add> a further salary of 50<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice> allowed to the Clerk of <lb xml:id="l31"/>the Bullion untill his place becomes void he being an useless officer. <lb xml:id="l32"/>And the Indenture of th<del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">e</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>t Mint became void by the said late Act of <lb xml:id="l33"/>Parliament in relation to the Masters Office <choice><sic>office</sic><corr type="noText"/></choice> of receiving &amp; <lb xml:id="l34"/>paying &amp; accounting.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par4">All which being considered <del type="strikethrough">I am humbly of opinio</del> 7amp; that by the <lb xml:id="l35"/>Act of Vnion the <del type="strikethrough">two</del> Mint<del type="strikethrough">s ought to be as <gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">in England is not altered &amp; the Mint</add> in Scotland ought to be <lb xml:id="l36"/>conformable to that in England: I am humbly of opinion that <del type="strikethrough">out o</del> <lb xml:id="l37"/>the money arising by the coinage Act in England be still imprest to the <lb xml:id="l38"/>Master &amp; Worker <del type="strikethrough">in England</del> of his <choice><abbr>M<hi rend="overline">at</hi>ies</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Mint in the Tower <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">by a Sign <choice><abbr>Man</abbr><expan>Manual</expan></choice></add> as before <fw type="catch" place="bottomRight">the</fw><pb xml:id="p102v" n="102v"/> the <del type="strikethrough">Act of</del> union <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">&amp; in the same manner<choice><orig> </orig><reg/></choice><del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del></add>. And that out of the moneys arising by the <choice><orig>coin<lb xml:id="l39"/>nage</orig><reg>coin<lb xml:id="l40"/>age</reg></choice> Act in great Britain so much be imprest <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes"><add place="lineBeginning" indicator="no">from time to</add> t<del type="strikethrough">he sign</del><add place="infralinear" indicator="no">ime</add> upon <choice><abbr>acc<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>account</expan></choice></add> <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">fo</add>r the use &amp; service <lb xml:id="l41"/>of his Majesties mint at Edinburgh <del type="strikethrough">&amp; upon accou</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">by a like Sign Manual</add> as shall be <lb xml:id="l42"/>sufficient<add place="inline" indicator="no">,</add> <del type="strikethrough">for the use 7amp; serviec that Min<del type="cancelled">t</del> &amp; th<del type="cancelled">e</del></del> for the mainte<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l43"/>nance thereof<del type="strikethrough">. A<unclear reason="del" cert="low">s</unclear> untill</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">so that</add> the whole moneys <del type="strikethrough">amount unto <del type="cancelled">the</del> <lb xml:id="l44"/>upon the</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes"><del type="strikethrough"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">do not</unclear></del></add> from time to time up<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>n the same sign manual do not <lb xml:id="l45"/>exceed a certain summ <choice><orig>supose</orig><reg>suppose</reg></choice> t</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par5"><del type="strikethrough">The sal<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>ries <del type="cancelled">of</del></del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no"><del type="over">i</del><add place="over" indicator="no">I</add>n</add> the Mint in <choice><sic>Scol<del type="over">d</del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>nd</sic><corr>Scotland</corr></choice> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">the salaries</add> amount only to <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">9</add>80<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> <lb xml:id="l46"/>per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice> whereof 50<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice> is to cease at the death of the <lb xml:id="l47"/>late Clerk of the Bullion<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">:</add> <add place="supralinear" indicator="no"><del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del></add> &amp; <add place="supralinear" indicator="no">therefore</add> 1200<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice> to that Mint without <lb xml:id="l48"/>including the charge of coyn<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>ge is too much. If to the <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">2</add>00<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> <lb xml:id="l49"/>already in their hands 1800<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> more be added to make up the <lb xml:id="l50"/>whole summ 3000 for the three years ending at Christmas <lb xml:id="l51"/>last &amp; the 1800<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> be imprest <del type="cancelled"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">in</unclear> <gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="3"/> <unclear reason="del" cert="medium">for</unclear></del> <del type="strikethrough">to the said General</del> for <lb xml:id="l52"/>the use &amp; service of that Mint in general so that it may be <lb xml:id="l53"/>appli<del type="over">ed</del><add place="over" indicator="no">ca</add><add place="inline" indicator="no">ble</add> to all sorts of charges: when the Account is made up <lb xml:id="l54"/><del type="strikethrough">for the said</del> till Christmas last, &amp; the ballance of the account is <lb xml:id="l55"/>certified to your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice>, it will then appear <del type="cancelled"><unclear reason="del" cert="medium">what</unclear></del> <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">to</add> your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l56"/>what further summ <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">s</add>hould be imprest.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par6">The <del type="strikethrough"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">stan</unclear></del> salaries of that Mint amount unto 980<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l57"/>whereof 50<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice> is allowed to the late C<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">l</add>erk of the <lb xml:id="l58"/>Bullion during <del type="cancelled">lif</del> <del type="strikethrough">his</del> life &amp; 50<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice> <del type="strikethrough">ha<del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">d</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no"><unclear reason="over" cert="medium">s</unclear></add> been</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">was</add> added to the <lb xml:id="l59"/>Wardens <del type="strikethrough">place</del> salary <del type="cancelled"><unclear reason="del" cert="medium">f</unclear></del> a little before the Vnion in consideration of <lb xml:id="l60"/>services done to some of the Nobility of Scotland. And when these <lb xml:id="l61"/>two fifty poun<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">d</add>s cease the salaries will amount only to 880<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> <lb xml:id="l62"/>per <choice><abbr>ann<hi rend="overline">u</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice>. And therefore an Annuity of twelve hundred pounds <lb xml:id="l63"/>per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">without including the charge of coinage</add> is too much.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par7">It may be sufficient at present to add 1<del type="over">2</del><add place="over" indicator="no">8</add>00<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> <del type="strikethrough">more</del> to the <lb xml:id="l64"/>1200<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> already imprest, so as to make the whole summ 3000<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> <lb xml:id="l65"/><add place="supralinear lineBeginning" indicator="yes">advanced</add> for the three years ending at Christmas <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">last</add>. And when the Accounts <lb xml:id="l66"/>shall be made up for those three years <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">&amp; a copy thereof sent to your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice></add>, <del type="strikethrough">the ballance of the Acc<hi rend="superscript">t</hi> <lb xml:id="l67"/>will make</del> it <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">will then</add> appear <del type="strikethrough">what</del> to your <choice><abbr>Lordps</abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> what further summ should <lb xml:id="l68"/>be imprest. But I am humbly of opinion that there should be a signe <lb xml:id="l69"/>Manual – – – untill a new Indenture shall be made.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par8">And when that Mint shall be to a posture to coine, <del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del>care may be <lb xml:id="l70"/>taken that there be always a summ of money <del type="strikethrough">lodged in S<gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del> (suppose of <lb xml:id="l71"/>one, <del type="strikethrough">or</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no"><del type="strikethrough">or</del></add> two <del type="strikethrough">hundred or three</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">or three</add> hundred pounds,) lodged in the Generals hands <lb xml:id="l72"/>for<del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del> bearing the charges thereof, &amp; appropriated to that service; with <lb xml:id="l73"/>direction that whenever that summ shall fall short, <del type="over">d</del><add place="over" indicator="no">t</add>he charges of <lb xml:id="l74"/>coinage be born out of any other moneys in the Generals hands untill <lb xml:id="l75"/><add place="supralinear lineBeginning" indicator="no"><del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del></add> the <del type="strikethrough">ballance thereof</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">deficiency can</add> be made <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">up</add></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par9">All <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> &amp;c <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="1"/></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par10">✱ &amp; the charge of <del type="strikethrough">repairing</del> keeping the Officers in repair &amp; the dwelling <lb xml:id="l76"/>houses wind &amp; waster <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">ti</add>te can be but small.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par11">And that there may be no more complaints <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>f the want of moneys to <lb xml:id="l77"/>beare the charges of coynage, the General may have notice t<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add> pay those <lb xml:id="l78"/>charges in the first place &amp; let the deficiency (if there by any) fall <lb xml:id="l79"/>upon the <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">s</add>alaries.</p>

                <p xml:id="par12">– wherein is set for<supplied reason="blotDel">t</supplied>h that pursuant to the Acts of Parliament for <del type="strikethrough">coin<lb xml:id="l80"/>age the</del> encouragement of coinage, moneys have been issued after the rate <lb xml:id="l81"/>of 1200<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> <del type="strikethrough">per a<hi rend="overline">n</hi> <gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del> yearly for the service of the Mint in Scotland <lb xml:id="l82"/>untill 1<hi rend="superscript">st</hi> Decem. 1714. And that <del type="strikethrough">by</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">pursuant to</add> an Act in the first session of this <lb xml:id="l83"/>present <add place="inline" indicator="no"><choice><abbr>P.</abbr><expan>Parliament</expan></choice></add> <del type="strikethrough">yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Lo<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi> are impowered to</del> tw<del type="over">l</del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add>lve hundred pounds more have <lb xml:id="l84"/>been issued upon account <del type="strikethrough">&amp; 2400<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> more</del> for one years service <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">untill 1<hi rend="superscript">st</hi> Decem 1715</add> &amp; 2400<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> <lb xml:id="l85"/>more are due for the two years <del type="strikethrough"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">endin</unclear> for <gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del> ending 1<hi rend="superscript">st</hi> December last. <lb xml:id="l86"/>I humbly represent that no moneys are due to that Mint by way of <lb xml:id="l87"/>an Annuity<add place="inline" indicator="no">.</add> <del type="strikethrough">except the coinage moneys</del> <del type="blockStrikethrough"><add place="supralinear" indicator="no"><del type="strikethrough"><add place="lineBeginning" indicator="no">[</add>or annal Rep</del> <del type="strikethrough"><del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="4"/></del><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="4"/>e, <add place="inline" indicator="no">[</add>unless</del></add> which arise<del type="strikethrough">s</del> yearly in Scotland <lb xml:id="l88"/><del type="strikethrough">to</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">sh<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>uld</add> be imprest <del type="strikethrough">yearly</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">&amp; paid</add> to them <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">upon account</add> by a si<del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">ne</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">gn</add><add place="inline" indicator="no">e</add> Manual as <del type="strikethrough">is done</del> they arise <lb xml:id="l89"/>after the <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">same</add> manner that the <del type="strikethrough">mo</del> coynage moneys <del type="strikethrough">are paid to <unclear reason="del" cert="medium">them</unclear> <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> are <lb xml:id="l90"/>paid to Engl</del> <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> arise in England are paid <add place="inline" indicator="no">in</add>to the Mint <del type="strikethrough">Master</del> in <lb xml:id="l91"/>England as they arise; <del type="strikethrough">that both Mint</del><del type="cancelled">s</del> the Act of Vnion <del type="strikethrough">appointin</del> <lb xml:id="l92"/>ordeining that his Maj<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi> Mint in Scotland should be conformable to <lb xml:id="l93"/>his Mint in England. And <del type="strikethrough">for</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">then</add> what further summs may be wanting <lb xml:id="l94"/>for discharging the ballance of the Accounts <del type="strikethrough">of the General</del> of that <lb xml:id="l95"/>Mint &amp; <choice><orig>carying</orig><reg>carrying</reg></choice> on the servicec thereof <del type="strikethrough"><del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del> your Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi> are impowe<del type="over">d</del><add place="over" indicator="no">r</add>d <lb xml:id="l96"/>to order the same to be paid out</del> may by <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">further</add> imprest upon the same <lb xml:id="l97"/>si<del type="over">ne</del><add place="over" indicator="no">gn</add>e Manual <del type="strikethrough">as your Lord</del> by your Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi> Orders.</del></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par13">The standing salaries of that Mint amount unto 930<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> <lb xml:id="l98"/>per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice>, <del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">&amp;</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">b</add>esides an allowance of 50<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> per annum to the <lb xml:id="l99"/>Clerk of the Bullion <del type="strikethrough">during life or untill he quits it</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no"><del type="strikethrough">untill</del> duuring life</add>. And there<lb xml:id="l100"/>fore 1200<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> per <choice><abbr>a<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice> without including the charges of coinage, is <lb xml:id="l101"/>too much. <del type="strikethrough">And that <del type="cancelled">if</del></del> <del type="over">i</del><add place="over" indicator="no">I</add>t may be sufficient <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">at present</add> to add 1800<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> more to <lb xml:id="l102"/>the 1200<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> allready imprest so as to make the whole summ <lb xml:id="l103"/>3000<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> for the three <del type="strikethrough">last</del> years ending at Christmass last<del type="over">,</del><add place="over" indicator="no">.</add> <lb xml:id="l104"/><del type="strikethrough">untill</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">And then</add> the Accounts shall be made up <del type="strikethrough">till that time &amp; the <lb xml:id="l105"/>Ballance thereof certified to your Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi>.</del> for those three years <lb xml:id="l106"/><del type="strikethrough">&amp; your Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi> shall be certified how much of the three thousand</del> <del type="blockStrikethrough">pounds hath been paid for Salaries &amp; how much for repairs of the <lb xml:id="l107"/>Offices &amp; keeping the dwelling houses wind &amp; water tit<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add>, &amp; what is <lb xml:id="l108"/>the ballance of the whole account<add place="inline" indicator="no">]</add></del><add place="supralinear lineBeginning" indicator="yes">&amp; a copy thereof sent to your <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice></add>: it will then appear to <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l109"/>what <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">fu</add>rther summs <del type="strikethrough">ought to</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">should <choice><sic>be</sic><corr type="noText"/></choice></add> be imprest.                 <p xml:id="par14">But considering that the General of that Mint is not <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes"><del type="strikethrough">yet</del></add> impowered <lb xml:id="l118"/><add place="supralinear lineBeginning" indicator="yes">by th<del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="medium">y</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add> Indenture of that Mint</add> to pay any moneys, I am humbly of opinion that there should be <lb xml:id="l119"/>a signe Manual sent to him <choice><orig>impouring</orig><reg>impowering</reg></choice> &amp; directing him to pay <lb xml:id="l120"/>the salaries &amp; other expences to whom they are or shall become <lb xml:id="l121"/>due by the <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">said</add> Indenture <del type="strikethrough">of that Mint</del> &amp; to make up his <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">A</add>ccounts <lb xml:id="l122"/>annually, &amp; directing him &amp; all the Officers in their several <lb xml:id="l123"/>places to take care that the moneys be <del type="strikethrough">well</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">duly</add> coined, &amp; to observ<supplied reason="copy">e</supplied> <lb xml:id="l124"/><add place="lineBeginning" indicator="no">all</add> the Rules &amp; Precepts set down in the <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">said</add> Indenture <del type="strikethrough">of that Mint</del> (ex<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l125"/>cept the alterations made by Parliament) untill a new Indenture <lb xml:id="l126"/>shall be made.</p>
