<p>The Treasury has ordered payment of £1,200 (almost the whole quarterly revenue received under the Coinage Act) to the Edinburgh Mint. London Mint expenditure in the quarter to 29 September will be £1,700, which it has £310 to meet. Requests that either the money be paid to the London Mint instead or provision made from other funds.</p>

    <p xml:id="par3"><hi rend="large">V</hi>nderstanding that the Money arising by the coynage <lb xml:id="l2"/>Act the last quarter ending at Michaelmas amounts to about <lb xml:id="l3"/>1400<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi>. and that there is an Order from your <choice><abbr>Lo<hi rend="overline">rdps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> to the <lb xml:id="l4"/>Auditor of the Exchequer to pay out of the same to the <lb xml:id="l5"/>General of his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi>.</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Mint in North Britain the su<choice><orig>m̄</orig><reg>mm</reg></choice>e of <lb xml:id="l6"/>1200<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi>. We humbly represent to your <choice><abbr>Lo<hi rend="overline">rdp</hi>s</abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> that the <lb xml:id="l7"/>charges of his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi>.</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Mint in the Tower of London <del type="strikethrough">in</del> <lb xml:id="l8"/>in the said Quarter ending at Michaelmas amounts to <lb xml:id="l9"/>about 1700<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi>. whereof about 1100<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi>. is the charges of coynage <lb xml:id="l10"/>and that towards the payment of this summ there are only <lb xml:id="l11"/>310<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi>. in our hands: And therefore humbly pray your Lordships <lb xml:id="l12"/>that the said coynage Duty may be paid to the Master and <lb xml:id="l13"/>Worker of the Mint as of course according to his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi>.</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> General <lb xml:id="l14"/>Warrant, or that else by the power lately given to your <choice><abbr>Lo<hi rend="overline">rdps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l15"/>by Act of <choice><abbr>Parliam<hi rend="superscript">t.</hi></abbr><expan>Parliament</expan></choice>, other monies may be paid to him in lieu <lb xml:id="l16"/>of the same for enabling him to defray the charges of the <lb xml:id="l17"/>said last Quarter, the Melter and Moneyers being out of <lb xml:id="l18"/>pocket and the Clerks of the Mint not able to subsist with<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l19"/>out their Salarys</p>
