Whereas for yethe better Carrying on yethe service of yethe Recoynage of yethe Monies in Scottland ꝑpersuauant to yethe Acts of Parliament for yethe Vnion of yethe two Kingdoms of England and Scottland. It has been represented by yethe Warden of Our Mint at Edinburgh (amongst other things) That 2 Monyrs.Monyers from Our Mint within yethe Tower of London should be sent down to Edinburgh both for working & directing yethe servants already in Our Mint of Scottland to work that there may not be yethe least difference betwixt the Coyns of yethe 2 Mints, & that both Mints may be putt into one form of working in all time comeing & whereas yethe Warden Mastr.er & Workr.er & Comptr.roller of Our Mint within Our Tower of London to whome yethe said Memorial was referr'd have reported that upon discoursing with yethe Monyrs.Monyers they finde them of opinion that this Our Service will be yethe better Carry'd on by sending three of theire Company, & that they have recomendedrecommended You to undertake yethe Coynage of yethe Money (That is to say) to draw yethe Barrs at yethe Mill, Neale & Cutt yethe pieces, to flatten, size Blanch & Coyne yethe Mony, & beare yethe charge of all yethe Waste thereon wthwith yethe allowance of Nine pence ꝑper pound weight & sixteen pounds Each for yethe charge of yor.your journey backwards & forwards & that whenever there shall not be one thousand pound weight Coyn'd in one Week after yor.your arrival you shall be allow'd three shillings a day Each over & above your work for that Week. And upon Condicontion that all necessary tools, Horses fireing & allom, be furnish'd for you all wch:which they conceive to be reasonable. We haveing taken yethe prmremisses into Our Royal Consideraconation do approve of what is so proposed & accordingly our Will & pleasure is & We do hereby direct & require you forthwith to repaire to our Mint at Edenburgh & undertake yethe Recoynage of yethe Money in Scottland according to such Rules, Methods & Instructions as by yethe Indenture of Our Mint in England & the Charter thereof is directed and prscribedprescribed & in such manmanner & uponn such CondiconConditions & allowances as are above recited recited which allowances Our Pleasure is & We do hereby Direct authorize & Command shall be paide in such manermanner as Our High Treasr:Treasurer of Great Britainne or yethe Commrs.Commissioners of Our Treasury.Treasury for yethe time being shall think fitt, & that there may not be yethe least difference betwixt the Coyns of Our two Mints in all time comeing We do hereby direct & require you to continue at Edinburgh not only till yethe whole Recoynage there be over but likewise untill such time as We shall have otherwaies ordained & provided for yethe Coynage of our Moneys in Our said Mint there, or that you shall obtaine leave from Our High Treasr.Treasurer to returne to England & all Our officers of Our Mint at Edinburgh are to take notice hereof & Govern themselves accordingly Given at Our Court at Windsor Castle the 12th. day of Iuly 1707 In yethe 6th. yeare of our Reigne
