    <p xml:id="par1"><add place="inline" indicator="no">For recoining the moneys of Scotland in her <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Mint at Edin<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l1"/>borough,</add> An order of her <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ty</hi></abbr><expan>Majesty</expan></choice> or Council <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">is humbly</add> desired, that six new standard Trial <lb xml:id="l2"/>pieces be made of gold &amp; six of silver &amp; delivered according to her <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l3"/>direction; <del type="cancelled">viz<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></del> <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">S</add>uppose one of each metal to be kept in the Treasury by the <lb xml:id="l4"/>Deputy Chamberlains of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Exchequer, to try te moneys of gold &amp; silver <lb xml:id="l5"/>from time to time coyned in both Mints, in fineness thereby<del type="over">,</del><add place="over" indicator="no">.</add> <del type="over">o</del><add place="over" indicator="no">O</add>ne of <lb xml:id="l6"/>each metal to be delivered to the Warden of her <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></abbr><expan>Majestys</expan></choice> Mint in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l7"/>Tower of London to try the moneys of gold &amp; silver from time to <lb xml:id="l8"/>time coyned in the said Mint in fineness thereby, as also to try the <lb xml:id="l9"/>gold &amp; silver Bullion brought thither if any difference shall <del type="strikethrough">arise</del> <lb xml:id="l10"/>happen to arise between the Master &amp; Worker &amp; the bringers in <lb xml:id="l11"/>of the same. The like to the said Master &amp; Worker to make <lb xml:id="l12"/>the said moneys in fineness thereby. The like to the Wardens of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Company of Goldsmiths within the city of London in Goldsmiths Hall <lb xml:id="l13"/>for Trial of their Plate &amp; other works as well of gold as of silver <lb xml:id="l14"/>in fineness thereby. The like to the General &amp; Warden of her <lb xml:id="l15"/><choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></abbr><expan>Majestys</expan></choice> Mint at Edinborough to try the moneys of gold &amp; silver <lb xml:id="l16"/><del type="strikethrough">at Edinburgh</del> from time to time coyned in the said Mint in <lb xml:id="l17"/>fineness thereby, as also to try the gold &amp; silver <del type="over">d</del><add place="over" indicator="no">b</add>ullion brought <lb xml:id="l18"/>thither if any difference shall arise between the Maste<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">r</add> of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l19"/>said Mint &amp; bringers in of the same. And the like to <lb xml:id="l20"/>the said General &amp; Master of the said Mint at Edinborough to <lb xml:id="l21"/>make the said moneys in fineness thereby. <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="1"/></p>
    
    <p xml:id="par2">The two Trial pieces for <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">S</add><del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del>cotland, were heretofore delivered <lb xml:id="l22"/>the one to the Treasury of Scotland to try their moneys, the other to <lb xml:id="l23"/>the General &amp; Officers of that Mint to make the same. But it <lb xml:id="l24"/>seems conformable to the Act of Vnion that the Moneys of both <lb xml:id="l25"/>Mints be henceforward tried before the Queen &amp; Council after one <lb xml:id="l26"/>&amp; the same manner by a Iury of Goldsmiths &amp; by the standards <lb xml:id="l27"/>of great Britain kept in the Exchequer, &amp; that they be made <lb xml:id="l28"/>&amp; examined in both Mints alike by two Trial pieces kept, the <lb xml:id="l29"/>one by the Master for making the moneys, <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">&amp;</add> the other by <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l30"/>Warden for trying them before delivery &amp; for deciding controver<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l31"/>sies bet<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="4"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">ween</add> the Master &amp; the Importer, as is done in the Tower <lb xml:id="l32"/><add place="inline interlinear" indicator="no">And therefore it is most humbly proposed that the Trial piece formerly <lb xml:id="l33"/>sent to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Treasury <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">in Scotland</add> be now sent to <del type="strikethrough">Mint</del> their Mint f<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>r <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> use of the <lb xml:id="l34"/>Warden.</add></p>
