                <p xml:id="par2"><hi rend="large">I</hi>n consideration of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> advantages <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> may accrue to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> East India <lb xml:id="l2"/>Company by this Act by lowering the price of Bullion &amp; permitting <lb xml:id="l3"/>the exportation of money &amp; <del type="cancelled">principally</del> for encouraging the importatio<supplied reason="copy">n</supplied> <lb xml:id="l4"/>of Gold &amp; Silver in lieu of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> great quantities exported by them <lb xml:id="l5"/>&amp; <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">for or toward</add> paying th<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add> charge of <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">coyning</add> so much as they shall export in <del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del> English <lb xml:id="l6"/>coyn, they the said Company shall annually pay to the Master <lb xml:id="l7"/>of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint at <del type="strikethrough"><choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Feast of</del> his Office i<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">n</add> <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Tower of London upon <lb xml:id="l8"/>the Feast of <space dim="horizontal" unit="chars" extent="20"/> the summ of <space dim="horizontal" unit="chars" extent="8"/> thousand pounds. <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="2"/></p>

                <p xml:id="par4">The East Ind<del type="over">a</del><add place="over" indicator="no">i</add>a Company to pay annually into <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <del type="strikethrough">Master of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">Custome house</add> <lb xml:id="l10"/>upon <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Feast <space dim="horizontal" unit="chars" extent="13"/> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">or <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice>in <del type="cancelled">ten</del> days after</add> the summ of <space dim="horizontal" unit="chars" extent="14"/> thousand pounds <lb xml:id="l11"/><del type="strikethrough">as an addition to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Coynage Duty for defraying the charge of coynage, &amp; to <lb xml:id="l12"/>see <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> same entred in the Leger Books of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Warden Master <del type="cancelled">&amp;</del> Comp<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l13"/>troller <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes"><del type="strikethrough">&amp; Kings Clerk</del></add> of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint to charge the Master withall</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no"><del type="strikethrough">the first payment to be made</del> <choice><sic>upon <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice></sic><corr type="delText">upon <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice></corr></choice> <del type="strikethrough">said Feast</del></add> &amp; in default of pay<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l14"/><choice><orig>m<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></orig><reg>ment</reg></choice> <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> said summ to be <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">speedily</add> seized in any of their ships by Warrant of the <choice><abbr>Comm<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi></abbr><expan>Commissioners</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l15"/>of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Customes. <del type="cancelled">And</del> Th<del type="over">e</del><add place="over" indicator="no">i</add><add place="inline" indicator="no">s</add> s<del type="over">aid</del><add place="over" indicator="no">um</add><add place="inline" indicator="no">m</add> <hi rend="underline"><space dim="horizontal" unit="chars" extent="6"/> thousand pounds</hi> to be set apart <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l16"/>the Dut<del type="over">y</del><add place="over" indicator="no">ie</add><add place="inline" indicator="no">s</add> <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">g</add>iven for <choice><abbr>encouragem<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>encouragement</expan></choice> of coynage &amp; paid into <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Excheq<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi></orig><reg>uer</reg></choice> &amp; <lb xml:id="l17"/>thence to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>Master</expan></choice> of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint for <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> same uses. And <del type="strikethrough">in</del> <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">co</add>nsideration of <lb xml:id="l18"/>the said Annuity the East India company to pay but half <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> charge of <lb xml:id="l19"/><del type="cancelled">the</del> coyn<del type="over">a</del><add place="over" indicator="no">i</add>ng what monies they export. <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="2"/></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par5">The law would encourage <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Merchant to bring his Bullion from <lb xml:id="l20"/>Spain to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Market in England rather then carry <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">it</add> directly to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Indies <del type="cancelled"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">&amp;</unclear></del> <lb xml:id="l21"/><del type="strikethrough">be stampt <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice></del> where the coynage will cost <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">at least</add> twice as much as the expor<lb xml:id="l22"/>tation of money <add place="inline" indicator="no">f</add><del type="over">in</del><add place="over" indicator="no">ro</add><add place="inline" indicator="no">m</add> England. And the more <del type="strikethrough">Gold &amp; Silver</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">Bullion</add> flows t<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add> <choice><abbr>o<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>our</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l23"/>market the more money will stay with us, &amp; the more will <choice><abbr>o<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>our</expan></choice> coyn <lb xml:id="l24"/>be propagated abroad to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> honour of the nation.</p>
