By weighing single & double French Pistoles I find that two double Pistoles weigh (more or less) 17dwt 7gr & four single ones 17dwt 5gr besides n a very few Pistoles The value of Pistoles.

Pistoles one wthwith another weigh 4dwt 714grains & are something moreas I find by weighing them the 14 legrain worse. Whence if they were standard a Pistole would be worth 17,s1d800910000 in oer money of due weight & allay. But they But they something more then 14 of a grain worse then standard are about 13 of a grain worse then standard & this abates of their value so as to bring them make thema Pistole worth 17s 1d 151 in oer money of due weight & allay.

In this recconning I consider Double Pistoles being less worn then single ones are one wthwith another about 1 grain heavier then two singl ones & so may be valued at 34s 23d a piece But these are very f But yethe number of these is inconsiderable. Tere are some signlesingle Pistoles 3 or 4 grains lighter then yethe rest., The or ab above. These I considered not in yethe recconing above mentioned. If they be included in the recconing they will bring down yethe value of Pistoles to less ynthen 17s 0d34 a pi a Pis a Pistole. Is. Newton
