An Account of all the Gold & Silver coyned in his Majesties Mint wthwithin the Tower of London from the first of October 1599 being yethe One & fortithfortieth year of Q.Queen Elizabeth to this present November 1675, being seventy six years, divided into four parts, shewing how the coyn of this kingdom did encrease in the three first parts proportionable to yethe encrease of trade & Navigation, & how much it hath Decreased in the fourth part, being since this present East India Company was erected in the year 1657

The Gold & silver exported for India, from yethe 2d of March 1673 to yethe 11th of March 1674 was by entry at yethe Custome house for the Port of London, Five hundred sixty & odd thousand pounds besides what was entred in the out Ports & wthwithout entry exported. The company exporting so great quantities of Gold & Silver hath inhansed the price of standard silver from under five shillings the ounce to five shillings & four pence wchwhich is ten per cent & a twenty shillings piece of broad Gold to twenty & four shillings wchwhich is twenty per Cent, & Guinneys in proportion wchwhich is so much in value above his Majesties coyne that it doth not only hinder the Bullion of Gold & Silver imported from being coiyned, but hath occasioned all the weighty Coyn to be culled out & melted into Bullion So that there is not above fifteen or twenty millions of pounds of currant money left in the Kingdom wchwhich is not sufficient to manage the trade wchwhich is reputed to be above forty millions ina year. The free exporting of Gold & silver & laying so great impositions by Mulet on all the cCommodities & Manufactures of this Kingd–om hinders the exporting thereof, wchwhich hath brought down the prizes of Land, Lead, Tin, Wollen & iother manufatctures.
