An Order of the Council [to the Ld Chancellour] for making six new her MatyMajesty or Council desires that six new In standard trial pieces of gold & six of silver & delivers by a Iury of & deliveringbe made & delivered to her majesty according to her MajtiesMajesties direction, vizt One of Gold & each metal to be kept in the Treasury by the Deputy Chamberlins of the Excheqruer one of for to try the moneys of gold & silver from time to time coyned by the Mo in both Mints in fineness thereby, the like to one of each metal to be delivered to the Warden of the her MatsMajestys Mint in the Tower of London to try the moneys of gold & silver from time to time coyned in their her Majts Mint in f the said Mint in fineness thereby, one of each metal to as also to try the Gold & Silver Bullion brought thither if any difference shall happen to arise between the Master & WrWorker & the bringers in of the same. The like withto the said MrMaster & WrWorker of yethe said Mint to make the said moneys in fineness therefythereby. The like to the Wardens of the Company of goldsmiths within the City of London in Goldsmiths Hall for the Trial of their plate & other works of as well of gold as of silver in fineness thereby. The like (if it be thought fit) to the General & Warden of her MajtsMajestys Mint in Scotlandat Edinborough to try the moneys of gold & silver from time to time coyned in the said Mint in fineness thereby as also to try the gold & silver bBullion brought thither if any difference shall arise between the Master of thaet said Mint & the bringers in of the same. And The like to the said General & Master of yethe said Mitn at Edinborough to make the said moneys in fineness thereby.

The LdLord Ch.Chancellour to summon yethe Iury & yethe LdLord Tr.Treasurer to defray yethe Charges.

An Order of Council her MatyMajesty or Council desired tohat the Warden of her MajtsMajestys Mint in the Tower do forthwith make or cause to be made two Piles of English Troy weight of great Britain in the most perfect & exact manner that by theirhis endeavours can be done whereof ‡ ‡ & that the greater & smaller weights of yethe said two Piles shall be made & framed proportionable thereunto. & that after the two said two PlilesPiles be so made & brought to yethe Tower of London, there to examin them they shall be there examined & stamped withe the Date & printed with a Rose & Thistle growi standing upon one common stalk, & crowned with one common crown & wthwith yethe of our Lord in the presence of the Officers of her MajtsMajestys Mint within the said Tower And ytthat after the same be so examined dated & printed they said Warden deliver them to shal at the Tower deliver one of the to be said Piles to the said General of the her Majts Mint at Scotland Edinborough or to his Order or the Order of the L.Lord H.High T.Treasurerby bill indented under the hands of the said Warden & General or Order, to be carried into Scotland by the said Gen by the sd General or his Orderto Edinborough & to remain with their MajtsMajestys Officers within her MajtsMajestys Mint at Edinborough, to the end that other weight of Troy may be there made conformable unto them, & the other of the said Piles shal remain with the Warden or Wardens for the time being within the said Tower of London.

Her MatyMajesty or Council may order
