                <p rend="center" xml:id="par1"><hi rend="large">The man<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="3"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">ner</add> of making the standard  Trial pieces.</hi> <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="2"/></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par2"><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">After the making of new <del type="strikethrough">T</del> standard Trial pieces is resolved upon</add>  <lb xml:id="l1"/>The  Lord Chancellour <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">m</add>ay send his Letter to the Warden<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">s</add> &amp; Company of <lb xml:id="l2"/>Goldsmiths  to return him the names of an able Iury to make the standards. The <lb xml:id="l3"/>Iury for this  purpose has been of 12 persons or more.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par3">The return of the names being made<add place="inline" indicator="no">,</add> <del type="cancelled">to</del> his <choice><abbr>Lo<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> <del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="3"/></del> may send his Warrant <lb xml:id="l4"/>by  his Serjeant at Arms or <choice><sic>Serjeans</sic><corr>Serjeants</corr></choice> Deputy to summon the Iury by their <lb xml:id="l5"/>names  to attend his <choice><abbr>Lo<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> at the time app<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>inted.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par4">And when they atte<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">n</add>d his <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> may call to his Serjeant at arms for his  War<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l6"/>rant for summoning them &amp; order the same to be delivered to the Remembran<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l7"/>cers Deputy who may attend with a C<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>py of an Oath to be given the Iury, <lb xml:id="l8"/>&amp; the Oath  being administred the Lord Chancellour <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">m</add>ay give the Iury in <lb xml:id="l9"/>charge to make <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">with all  e<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">x</add>actness imaginable &amp; according  their best skill &amp; endeavour</add> One standard of crown  gold conteining in the pound weight <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">Troy</add> <lb xml:id="l10"/>eleven <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>unces of fine gold &amp; one ounce  of copper allay, &amp; one standard of <lb xml:id="l11"/>sterling silver conteining in the pound  weight  ele<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">v</add>en ounces <add place="inline" indicator="no">&amp;</add> two penny <lb xml:id="l12"/>weight of fine silver &amp; eighteen  penny weight of <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">copper</add> allay, &amp; to indent &amp; divide <lb xml:id="l13"/>each into seven  equal parts &amp; to inscribe &amp; print each <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">part</add> in such manner as <lb xml:id="l14"/>hath been  usually done. And his <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> may also appoint the time when &amp; where <lb xml:id="l15"/>to attend him with their Veredict &amp; with the said Indented Triall pieces.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par5">And when the Veredict is returned, his <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>r his Order delivers the <lb xml:id="l16"/>said Trial Pieces according to her <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> directions expressed in the Indenture <lb xml:id="l17"/>of the Mint or otherwise, <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">t</add>aking Rece<del type="over">pts</del><add place="over" indicator="no">ipt</add><add place="inline" indicator="no">s</add> from the persons to whom they <lb xml:id="l18"/>are delivered, viz<hi rend="superscript">t</hi> from the Auditors &amp; Deputy Chamberlains of the two <lb xml:id="l19"/><choice><abbr>Excheq<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi></abbr><expan>Exchequers</expan></choice> (if there be such Officers in Scotland) from the Wardens &amp; Masters of the <lb xml:id="l20"/>two Mints, &amp; from the Wardens of the Company of Goldsmiths London, &amp; <lb xml:id="l21"/>sends the Veredict &amp; Receipts to the <choice><abbr>L<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>Lord</expan></choice> High Treasurer or <choice><abbr>Comm<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi></abbr><expan>Commissioners</expan></choice> of the <lb xml:id="l22"/>Treasury to b<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add> entered &amp; kept in the Treasury by the Deputy Remembrancers</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par6">That piece <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> tallies <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> all the rest, is to be delivered into the Treasury <lb xml:id="l23"/>at  Westminster, the two delivered to the Officers of the Mint in the <lb xml:id="l24"/>Tower are to tally  with one another &amp; one of them with that delivered to <lb xml:id="l25"/>Wardens of the Company  of Goldsmiths, &amp; of the three sent into Scotland <lb xml:id="l26"/>that <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> tallies with the other  two <del type="strikethrough">is <gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">may</add> be delivered into the Treasury there <lb xml:id="l27"/>that upon the trial of the Pix they  may both be examined by it. The print <lb xml:id="l28"/>upon the trial pieces has usually been  <add place="inline" indicator="no">t</add><del type="over">a</del><add place="over" indicator="no">h</add><add place="inline" indicator="no">e</add> stamp of the current money &amp; the <lb xml:id="l29"/>inscription upon them has been in the  following form</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par7">This standard commixed of 22 carrets of fine gold &amp; <del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del>2 Carrets of allay <lb xml:id="l30"/>in the  pound weight Troy of England 20 Iun. 1707.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par8">This standard commixed of 11<hi rend="superscript">oz</hi> 2<hi rend="superscript">dw<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></hi> of fine silver &amp; 18<hi rend="superscript">dw<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></hi> of allay in the <lb xml:id="l31"/>pound weight Troy of England <del type="over">2</del><add place="over" indicator="no">m</add>ade 20 Iun. 1707</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par9">The trial piece of silver for the Wardens of the Company of Goldsmiths  may <lb xml:id="l32"/>be kept in the Treasury untill <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">they may</add> have occasion for it.</p>
