    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par3">In obedience to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>L<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>ps</abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> orders of Reference of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l1"/>8<hi rend="superscript">sh</hi> &amp; 10<hi rend="superscript">sh</hi> of August, wherein we are directed to consider <lb xml:id="l2"/><choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> qualifications of Coll Parsons, m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Croker, m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Rose <lb xml:id="l3"/>&amp; m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Fowler to succeed M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Harris in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> place of Graver <lb xml:id="l4"/>of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> mint, we humbly represent to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>L<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>p</abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice></p>
    
    <p xml:id="par4"><choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>That</expan></choice> upon consideration of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> great inconveniencys <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l5"/>mint lately suffe<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">r</add>'d in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> time of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Rotiers, who bred <lb xml:id="l6"/>up no Gravers to succeed <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">m</hi></abbr><expan>them</expan></choice>, &amp; afterwards by m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Harris <lb xml:id="l7"/>having <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> salary of Graver who was only a cutter of <lb xml:id="l8"/>seals, <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> master worker of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> mint did insert a clause in <lb xml:id="l9"/><choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Indenture made between <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Crown &amp; him, whereby <lb xml:id="l10"/><choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Gravers salary should <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">cease</add> upon <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> next voidance of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l11"/>place, in order to a new <choice><abbr>setlem<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>setlement</expan></choice></p>
    
    <p xml:id="par5">It is therefore humbly proposd, <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> there should <lb xml:id="l12"/>be a set of gravers brought up in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> mint in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> same <lb xml:id="l13"/>manner of graving, for <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> security of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> coinage <choice><abbr>ag<hi rend="superscript">st</hi></abbr><expan>against</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l14"/>counterfeiting, &amp; to propagate is to probation<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">rs</hi></orig><reg>ers</reg></choice> or <lb xml:id="l15"/>apprentices, <del type="strikethrough">who may succeed <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice></del> for <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> end we humbly <lb xml:id="l16"/>propose, <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>that</expan></choice> m<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Croker one of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>peticon<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi></abbr><expan>petitioners</expan></choice> who has been <lb xml:id="l17"/>many years employd in <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <del type="strikethrough"><choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> an allowance of <lb xml:id="l18"/>150<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>per</reg></choice> <choice><abbr>an</abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice></del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">at 150<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> <choice><orig>ꝑ</orig><reg>per</reg></choice> <choice><abbr>an</abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice></add> &amp; is a very good Graver, be now made first <lb xml:id="l19"/>Graver of <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> mint <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> a salary of 200<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> a year for himself <lb xml:id="l20"/>&amp; a <choice><abbr>serv<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>servant</expan></choice> to file &amp; polish dyes, &amp; turn <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> press, &amp; have
