    <p xml:id="par10">That your <choice><abbr>Peticon<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>Petitioner</expan></choice> being credibly informed that <lb xml:id="l14"/>M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Thomas Fitch the Weigher and Teller of his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Mint <lb xml:id="l15"/>in the server is dead, and your <choice><abbr>Peticon<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>Petitioner</expan></choice> being the second son <lb xml:id="l16"/>of <choice><abbr>S<hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</abbr><expan>Sir</expan></choice> <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ohn Brattell who was Assay Master from <lb xml:id="l17"/>the year 1660 to the year 1692 when he died, and your <lb xml:id="l18"/><choice><abbr>Petic<hi rend="overline">one</hi>r</abbr><expan>Petitioner</expan></choice> since being Employ'd in the Mint, dureing <lb xml:id="l19"/>the late great coynage as <choice><sic>Cheife</sic><corr>Chiefe</corr></choice> Agent in inspecting <lb xml:id="l20"/>the old, and weighing and telling the new money, and <lb xml:id="l21"/>your <choice><abbr>Peticon<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>Petitioner</expan></choice> haveing faithfully discharged his duty and <lb xml:id="l22"/>Trust therein to the satisfaction of the principall <lb xml:id="l23"/>Officers of his <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> said Mint, who well know <choice><abbr>yo<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>your</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l24"/><choice><abbr>Peticon<hi rend="superscript">rs</hi></abbr><expan>Petitioners</expan></choice> behaviour in the said Affaire <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="3"/></p>

    <p xml:id="par18">That your <choice><abbr>Peticon<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>Petitioner</expan></choice> hath served for above a year <lb xml:id="l31"/>and half in the Employment of Deputy to the Warden of the <lb xml:id="l32"/>Mint in the Tower of London, during <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> time he has Constantly <lb xml:id="l33"/>lived there and attended the Business of his place <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> great care &amp; <lb xml:id="l34"/>diligence; for the truth of <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> he referrs himself to the Principall <lb xml:id="l35"/>officers of his <choice><abbr>Maties</abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Mint.</p>
    
    <p xml:id="par19">That the Employment of Weigher and <lb xml:id="l36"/>Teller is now become vacant by the death of M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Fitch, with <lb xml:id="l37"/>a salary of Ninety Pounds a year, <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> is a place of great <lb xml:id="l38"/>trust and requires skill and knowledge in the business of the <lb xml:id="l39"/>Mint.</p>

    <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par25">That the Office of Weigher and Teller to his <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ties</hi></abbr><expan>Majesties</expan></choice> Mint <lb xml:id="l47"/>is now vacant by the death of M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Fitch and being in <lb xml:id="l48"/>the disposall of your Lordships, your <choice><abbr>Peti<hi rend="overline">con</hi>er</abbr><expan>Petitioner</expan></choice> does humbly <lb xml:id="l49"/>pray that your Lordships would be pleased to bestow the <lb xml:id="l50"/>said Office, upon him it being a place of great trust &amp; <lb xml:id="l51"/>concern, And your <choice><abbr>Petic<hi rend="overline">o</hi>ner</abbr><expan>Petitioner</expan></choice> being resolved <choice><sic>(</sic><corr type="noText"/></choice>if your <choice><abbr><hi rend="overline">Lordps</hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l52"/>shall think fit to dispose of it in his favour to discharge <lb xml:id="l53"/>the trust you shall upon in him with the greatest <lb xml:id="l54"/>diligence and fidelity.</p>
